Pirates farm report for April 8, 2025: Bubba Chandler fans 8 in 4 innings for Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 2-5) lost 4-2 to Louisville (Reds). RHP Bubba Chandler (0.00) started and threw four dominant innings, allowing one hit and two walks with eight strikeouts. RHP David Bednar worked a perfect sixth, striking out two. RHP Drake Fellows (7.36) and RHP Kyle Nicholas (11.57) also worked a scoreless inning each before RHP Peter Strzelecki (0-1, 27.00) got one out and gave up four runs on three hits and two walks. 1B DJ Stewart (.200) went 1 for 3 with a solo homer, his second. C Henry Davis (.200) went 2 for 4 with a double. RF Matt Gorski (.333) went 1 for 4 with an RBI.

Next: Wednesday at Louisville (Reds), 12:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 1-3) gave up two runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth to lose 6-5 to Akron (Guardians). 2B Termarr Johnson (.250) went 1 for 4 with a three-run homer, his first, and a walk. SS Jack Brannigan (.083) went 1 for 3 with a double and two RBIs. C Shawn Ross (.429) went 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored. RHP Po-Yu Chen (4.50) started and gave up two runs on three hits, including a homer, and a walk. He struck out seven. LHP Nick Dombkowski (2.25) worked two scoreless innings.

Next: Wednesday at Akron (Guardians), 6:35 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 3-1) got a two-run double from 3B Keiner Delgado (.333) in the top of the ninth to beat Winston-Salem (White Sox), 4-3. Delgado went 3 for 5 with three RBis and a stolen base, his second. DH Maikol Escotto (.615) went 2 for 4 with a double. 2B Duce Gourson (.500) went 3 for 4 with a walk, a run scored and his sixth stolen base. RHP Khristian Curtis (8.10) started and was tagged for three runs on three hits and three walks in 3 ⅓ innings. He struck out six. RHP Jaycob Deese (0.00), LHP Blake Townsend (2.25), RHP Michael Walsh (1-0, 21.60) and RHP Ryan Harbin (0.00) combined to throw 5 ⅔ scoreless innings.

Next: Wednesday at Winston-Salem (White Sox), 6:30 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 1-3) lost 9-4 to Palm Beach (Cardinals). RHP Peyton Stumbo (0.00) started and worked four no-hit innings, walking none and striking out five. Four Marauders relief pitchers allowed two runs apiece. DH Konnor Griffin (.176) went 1 for 5 with his third stolen base and a run scored. C Axiel Plaz (.375) went 3 for 5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. SS Yordany De Los SAntos (.250) went 2 for 5 with a double and a run scored. CF Braylon Bishop (.222) went 1 for 3 with a walk and two RBIs.
