Pirates farm report for Aug. 1, 2024: Bethel Park's Justin Meis throws 3 scoreless innings, earns win for Altoona

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 49-52) handled Toledo (Tigers), 7-3. 2B Nick Yorke (.309) went 1 for 4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. SS Liover Peguero (.256) went 2 for 2 with a double. 3B Malcom Nunez (.267) went 2 for 3 with two RBIs. RF Jack Suwinski (.265) went 1 for 3 with a double. LHP Michael Plassmeyer (2-8, 8.56) pitched the final three innings, allowing no runs on two hits, to earn the win. RHP Luis Cessa (4.27) started and worked six innings, giving up three runs, two earned, on four hits and a walk. He fanned five.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 43-56) beat Richmond (Giants), 5-4, in 10 innings. RHP Justin Meis (3-1, 6.15) earned the win, allowing one hit, one walk and no runs in the final three innings. He struck out three. RHP Emmanuel Chapman (3.82) started and gave up one unearned run on no hits and three walks in four innings. He fanned five. 3B Jackson Glenn (.176) went 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI. SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.226) went 1 for 3 with a walk and two runs scored.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 58-40) took care of Winston-Salem (White Sox), 6-2. DH PJ Hilson (.278) went 4 for 5 with a double, a run scored, two RBIs and his 11th stolen base. SS Termarr Johnson (.249) went 2 for 4 with a double. C Shawn Ross (.179) went 1 for 4 with a walk, two runs scored and his seventh stolen base. RHP Derek Diamond (4.78) started and went five innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on six hits with a walk and a strikeout. RHP Alessandro Ercolani (4-1, 3.77) pitched 3⅔ innings of scoreless relief, giving up three hits and one walk, to earn the win. He struck out three.

RHP Garrett McMillan (3-3, 2.66) gave up five runs, three earned, on five hits in two innings to take the loss. RHP Justin Miknis (0.00) pitched a scoreless eighth. DH Keiner Delgado (.231) went 2 for 3. LF Enmanuel Terrero (.165) went 1 for 4 with and RBI. CF Braylon Bishop (.231) went 1 for 3 with an RBI.
