Pirates farm report for Aug. 1, 2025: Billy Cook knocks in 4 runs as Indy wins in 10 innings
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 62-42) scored three runs in the top of 10th and defeated Iowa (Cubs), 8-5, in extra innings. LF Billy Cook (.252) was 3 for 5 with a double, triple, two runs scored and four RBIs. DH Nick Yorke (.270) was 1 for 4 with a walk, two RBIs and a run scored. 3B Tsung-Che Cheng (.222) also knocked in a run. CF Ji Hwan Bae (.293) was 1 for 3 with two walks and two runs scored. LHP Hunter Barco (4.29) started and allowed three runs on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings. RHP Cam Sanders (2-1, 1.93) picked up the win with two scoreless innings of relief, allowing one hit with a walk and six strikeouts.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 48-51) scored a 2-1 victory over Portland (Red Sox). 1B/LF Jase Bowen (.259) had two hits, including the go-ahead single. C Omar Alfonzo (.186) was 2 for 3 with a walk and a run scored. RF Esmerlyn Valdez (.200) was 1 for 4 with a run scored. SS Kervin Pichardo (.209) also had a hit. LHP Dominic Perachi (0.00) threw five scoreless innings, allowing two hits with two walks and four strikeouts. RHP Valentin Linarez (5-2, 3.76) earned the win after giving up a run on one hit with a walk and two strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 69-28) had just one hit and dropped a 6-0 decision against Rome (Braves). C Geovanny Planchart (.195) was 1 for 2. SS Konnor Griffin (.319) was 0 for 2 with a walk and two strikeouts. RHP Peyton Stumbo (0-1, 3.05) took the loss after allowing three runs on four hits with three walks and a strikeout in three innings. A second game was postponed by inclement weather.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 46-54) was swept by Clearwater (Phillies) in a doubleheader. In the first game, Bradenton was shut out 3-0. Newly acquired SS Sammy Stafura (.268) was 3 for 4 with a double and triple. C Richard Ramirez (.267) and RF Eddy Rodriguez (.205) had the only other hits. LHP Owen Kellington (3.18) started and allowed one hit in three scoreless innings with two walks and two strikeouts. RHP Jonawel Valdez (4-4, 3.98) took the loss after giving up two runs on three hits with a walk and two strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.
In Game 2, the Marauders managed just two hits and lost 9-0. 1B Ramirez (.270) was 1 for 3. RF Braylon Bishop (.195) was 1 for 1 with a walk. SS Wyatt Sanford (.238) was 0 for 2 with two walks. 2B Stafura (.264) was 0 for 4. RHP Zander Mueth (0-4, 7.45) took the loss after allowing six runs (three earned) on three hits with three walks and two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.
