Pirates farm report for Aug. 18, 2022: Malcom Nunez hits game-winning homer for Curve

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 55-57) was blanked by Iowa (Cubs), 3-0. RHP Jerad Eickhoff (5-5, 4.45) started and gave up three runs on five hits, including a homer, in five innings. LHP Cam Allred (2.59) pitched two scoreless innings, allowing two hits. RHP John O’Reilly (6.25) and LHP Cam Vieaux (3.00) each pitched a perfect inning. C Carter Bins (.204) went 2 for 4 with a double. DH Ji-hwan Bae (.297) made his return after missing about a month with an oblique injury and went 1 for 3 with his 21st stolen base.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 55-56) beat Harrisburg (Nationals), 8-5, on a three-run homer by DH Malcom Nunez (.231) in the bottom of the ninth. 3B Jared Triolo (.277) went 2 for 4 with three runs scored and hit a lead-off home run, his eighth. LF Matthew Fraizer (.225) went 2 for 4 with his sixth homer. C Endy Rodriguez (.357) went 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI. 1B Aaron Shackelford (.248) went 2 for 4 with two RBIs. RHP Cristofer Melendez (5.23) started and pitched two scoreless innings. RHP Carmen Mlodzinski (4.94) was touched up for five runs on nine hits in four innings. RHP Colin Selby (2-2, 2.66) got the final two outs of the top of the ninth to earn the win.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 47-62) scored three in the ninth to beat Rome (Braves), 3-1. LF Hudson Head (.234) went 2 for 3 and scored a run. 2B Dariel Lopez (.285) went 1 for 3 with an RBI. RF Yoyner Fajardo (.263) went 1 for 4 and drove in a run. RHP Nick Garcia (4.20) started and pitched six innings, giving up one run on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts. RHP Matt Eckleman (1-0, 5.54) threw two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. RHP Cristian Charle (2.77) pitched a perfect ninth for his first save.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 58-52) lost to Tampa (Rays), 6-5, in 10 innings. LHP Luis Peralta (5.82) started and pitched five scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out nine. RHP Carlos Campos (0-2, 3.52) recorded an out and gave up one run on one hit and one walk in the 10th. SS Tsung-che Cheng (.270) went 2 for 4 with a double. RF Tanner Treadway (.200) went 1 for 3 with three RBIs.
