Pirates farm report for Aug. 18, 2023: Chris Owings belts 2-run homer in Indians' loss
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 54-62) lost 8-5 to St. Paul (Twins). LF Chris Owings (.232) hit a two-run home run. DH Mason Martin (.275) was 1 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. C Dom Nunez (.199) hit a solo homer. 2B Jared Triolo (.292) was 1 for 4 with a run scored in his return to Triple-A. SS Nick Gonzales (.264) was 0 for 3 with a walk. RHP Luis Ortiz (4.61) started and allowed five runs on nine hits with three walks and six strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. RHP Travis MacGregor (1-1, 5.02) took the loss after giving up three runs on one hit with a walk and strikeout in 2/3 of an inning of relief.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 52-57) dropped a 3-1 decision to Bowie (Orioles). DH Joe Perez (.417) had two hits. SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.285) hit a sacrifice fly, his 17th RBI. RF Matt Fraizer (.250) had a single. LHP Jackson Wolf (3.46) threw five scoreless innings, allowing two hits with a walk and three strikeouts. RHP Nick Dombkowski (4-4, 3.20) took the loss after allowing a run on two hits with a walk in 1 1/3 innings.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 59-50) scored four times in the seventh inning and beat Bowling Green (Rays), 5-3. C Wyatt Hendrie (.240) hit a three-run homer. 3B Shawn Ross (.200) hit a solo homer. LF Tres Gonzalez (.282) also had an RBI. RHP Thomas Harrington (2-4, 4.15) earned the win after allowing one run on two hits with two walks and eight strikeouts in seven innings. RHP Valentin Linarez (4.43) picked up the save after two spotless innings with three strikeouts.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 63-48) was shut out by Lakeland (Tigers), 9-0. The Marauders managed just two hits. 1B Juan Jerez (.192) and CF Sergio Campana (.172) each had singles. LHP Hunter Barco (0-2, 12.00) took the loss after allowing three runs on four hits with a walk and strikeout in 1/3 of an inning.
