Pirates farm report for Aug. 18, 2024: Matt Gorski's homer helps Indy sweep St. Paul

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 57-59) swept St. Paul (Twins) with a 7-6 walk-off victory. CF Matt Gorski (.244) was 3 for 5 with two RBIs, including a double and solo home run in the bottom of the ninth. He now has 53 RBIs this season. 1B Seth Beer (.295) was 3 for 4 with three RBIs. C Henry Davis (.318) was 2 for 3 with a solo homer. 2B Liover Peguero (.249) was 0 for 5 with an RBI. RHP Aaron Shortridge (5.26) started and allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits with three walks and four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. LHP Brady Feigl (7-2, 4.07) tossed a clean inning of relief to earn the win.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 47-67) fell 6-2 to Bowie (Orioles). SS Kervin Pichardo (.270) had an RBI double. RF Tres Gonzalez (.232) also had an RBI. LF Matt Fraizer (.224) tripled. 1B Nick Cimillo (.224) and C Abrahan Gutierrez (.246) had the only other hits. RHP Po-Yu Chen (4-9, 4.24) took the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits with three walks and a strikeout in two innings.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 63-49) scored a 7-5 victory over Bowling Green (Rays). 2B Termarr Johnson (.235) smashed a solo homer and also had two walks and two RBIs. DH Mitch Jebb (.252) was 2 for 4 with a walk and RBI. LF Lonnie White Jr. (.175) was 2 for 5. RF Hudson Head (.224) hit a solo homer. 1B/3B Maikol Escotto (.218) and CF P.J. Hilson (.257) were each 2 for 5. RHP Wilber Dotel (5.57) gave up five runs (four earned) on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. RHP Alessandro Ercolani (5-1, 3.49) picked up the win after allowing three hits with two walks in two innings of relief.

LHP Connor Oliver (5.35) allowed one run on three hits with five strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. RHP Peyton Stumbo (3-4, 5.64) picked up the win after allowing one hit in 1 1/3 innings of relief.
