Pirates farm report for Aug. 2, 2025: Tony Blanco Jr.'s walk-off homer seals Bradenton victory

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 63-42) took down Iowa (Cubs), 5-2. 1B Nick Solak (.366) was 2 for 5 with a two-run homer. DH Rafael Flores (.244), newly acquired from the Yankees, was 2 for 3 with a walk, RBI and run scored. C Shawn Ross (.224) knocked in a run. CF Ji Hwan Bae (.296) was 2 for 5. LF Ronny Simon (.295) was 1 for 5 with a run scored. 2B Nick Yorke (.273) was 2 for 4 with a run scored. LHP Randy Labaut (4.79) started and allowed two runs on one hit with four walks and a strikeout in 2 2/3 innings. RHP Ryder Ryan (5-1, 3.78) picked up the win after giving up two hits with four strikeouts in 3 1/3 scoreless innings of relief.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 48-52) lost 4-1 to Portland (Red Sox). 2B Termarr Johnson (.247) was 0 for 3 with an RBI. RF Esmerlyn Valdez (.219), CF Sammy Siani (.197), and SS Maikol Escotto (.138) had hits. RHP Wilber Dotel (4-7, 4.90) took the loss after giving up four runs on seven hits with a walk and six strikeouts in six innings. LHP Tyler Samaniego (4.15) tossed two scoreless innings of relief, allowing one hit with two strikeouts.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 70-30) split a doubleheader with Rome (Braves). In the first game, Greensboro won 10-2. DH Will Taylor (.240) hit a grand slam. CF P.J. Hilson (.260) was 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. LF Tres Gonzalez (.286) was 2 for 3 with a walk, RBI and three runs scored. SS Konnor Griffin (.317) was 1 for 4 with a walk, RBI and run scored. 2B Keiner Delgado (.248) doubled. R Hung-Leng Chang (4.99) allowed one run on three hits with a walk and four strikeouts in four innings. LHP Julian Bosnic (3-2,3.51) earned the win after he allowed one hit and no runs with a strikeout in 1 2/3 innings of relief.

In the second game, the Grasshoppers managed one hit and lost 2-0. Griffin (.317) was 1 for 3. CF White Jr. (.218) and C Geovanny Planchart (.193) reached on walks. LHP Connor Wietgrefe (4.01) started and allowed one hit with two walks and a strikeout in four scoreless innings. RHP Landon Romkins (5-3, 2.66) took the loss after giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits with a walk and two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.

C Abrahan Gutierrez (.182) was 2 for 5 with an RBI and run scored. CF Edward Florentino (.267) was 1 for 4 with two runs scored. LHP Victor Cabreja (8-1, 2.44) earned the win after allowing three hits with a walk and five strikeouts in 6 1/3 scoreless innings of relief.
