Pirates farm report for Aug. 30, 2023: Josiah Sightler homers in Greensboro win
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 59-67) lost 6-2 to Buffalo (Blue Jays). RHP Max Kranick (0-1, 6.75) started and went 1.1 innings, allowing three runs on two hits, walked two and struck out one in a loss. RHP Beau Sulser (7.36) tossed 3.2 innings of relief and gave up two runs, one earned, on two hits and walked two. RHPs Kyle Nicolas (6.99), Yohan Ramirez (4.43) and Hunter Stratton (4.07) each threw one shutout inning. 2B Nick Gonzales (.263) went 1 for 5 with an RBI. 1B Miguel Andujar (.341) went 2 for 4 with two singles. SS Chris Owings (.236) was 2 for 3 with two singles and an RBI. 3B Jared Triolo (.294) went 1 for 3 with a single and a walk. LF Canaan Smith-Njigba (.249) finished 0 for 4 with three strikeouts.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 57-62) was quiet offensively, collecting just five hits, in a 9-2 loss against Erie (Tigers). LHP Jackson Wolf (0-2, 3.43) went three innings, gave up three runs on seven hits, walked three, struck out one, gave up a home run and suffered the loss. LHP Geronimo Franzua (6.88) tossed two-thirds of an inning in relief, allowing five runs on four hits, walked one and surrendered a two-run homer. RHP Grant Ford (4.58) yielded a run on one hit, walked four and fanned one in an inning. 2B Jackson Glenn (.277) went 1 for 4 with a single. 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.228) was 1 for 3 with a two-run home run, his eighth of the year. C Carter Bins (.204) went 1 for 3 with a double. RF Matt Frazier (.260) and CF Matt Gorski (.243) each went 1 for 4 with a single.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 64-55) beat Hickory (Rangers), 6-2. RHP Thomas Harrington (3-5, 3.92) tossed six innings, surrendered one unearned run on three hits, walked three and struck out five for the win. RHP Jack Carey (4.14) threw an inning of relief and gave up one run on three hits and fanned two. RHP Ryan Harbin (8.04) allowed one hit, walked one and struck out one to earn the two-inning save. 1B Josiah Sightler (.264) went 1 for 2 with a three-run home run, his sixth. DH Brenden Dixon (.225) was 2 for 4 with a single and his 11th home run of the season. RF Luke Brown (.259) was 2 for 5 with a double and his sixth homer. 2B Termarr Johnson (.211) went 2 for 3 with two singles. LF Tres Gonzalez (.282) ended his day 2 for 4 with a walk, a run scored, a stolen base and two singles.
