Pirates farm report for Aug. 30, 2025: Esmerlyn Valdez powers Curve with 3-run homer

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 75-55) edged out Buffalo (Blue Jays), 2-1, despite being held to four hits. LF Jase Bowen (.254) went 2 for 3 with a double, triple, run scored and RBI. CF Sammy Siani (.267) went 1 for 3 with a run scored. RHP Chase Shugart (1.00) started and went two innings, allowing one run on two hits and a walk. LHP Hunter Barco (3-1, 3.90) followed with three scoreless innings, allowing one hit. RHP Brandan Bidois (0.00) and RHP Beau Burrows (4.50) retired the last 12 batters without allowing a hit. Burrows picked up his second save.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 62-62) dispatched Harrisburg (Nationals), 9-2. RF Esmerlyn Valdez (.261) went 3 for 4 with his sixth homer, a three-run blast. SS Konnor Griffin (.333) went 1 for 5 with a run scored and two RBIs. DH Nick Cimillo (.234) went 2 for 4 with his 17th homer. LF Tres Gonzalez (.258) went 2 for 4 with a two-run homer, his first with the Curve. 2B Termarr Johnson (.262) went 1 for 4 with a walk and an RBI. LHP Dominic Perachi (2-1, 5.79) started and threw six scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk with three strikeouts. RHP Valentin Linarez (3.25) followed with two innings of one-hit scoreless relief.

He walked none and fanned four.
