Pirates farm report for Aug. 7, 2024: Indianapolis wins on Alika Williams sacrifice fly

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 50-56) beat Nashville (Brewers), 4-3, in 10 innings. SS Alika Williams (.315) went 1 for 4 and drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly. RHP Connor Sadzeck (3-2, 4.28) pitched a scoreless ninth and 10th to pick up the win. DH Billy Cook (.289) went 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. LF Billy McKinney (.279) went 2 for 4. RHP Luis Cessa (4.11) started and went five innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits and four walks in five innings. LHP Brady Feigl (4.23) pitched two scoreless innings of relief.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 44-60) was outslugged by Portland (Diamondbacks), 13-8. RHP Po-Yu Chen (3.89) started and gave up five runs on seven hits in four innings. LHP Cy Nielson (0-1, 6.75) allowed four runs on two hits and two walks in 1⅓ innings to take the loss. RHP Eddy Yean (3.86) was touched up for three runs on four hits in an inning. SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.234) went 2 for 4 with his 10th homer, a grand slam. RF Sammy Siani (.251) went 2 for 5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. CF Jase Bowen (.237) went 2 for 5 with a run scored. LF Yoyner Fajardo (.311) went 1 for 1 with four walks and a run scored.

C Shawn Ross (.184) and 3B Kalae Harrison (.151) each went 0 for 3 with three strikeouts. RHP Derek Diamond (5-4, 4.82) started and went five innings, allowing three runs on seven hits with no walks and four strikeouts. RHP Alessandro Ercolani (3.67) worked four innings, giving up one run on two hits with one walk and seven strikeouts.

RHP Danny Carrion (4.11) threw two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk. RHP Noah Takacs worked three scoreless innings, giving up no hits and three walks, to earn the win.
