Pirates farm report for games of Wednesday, June 5, 2019

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 33-23) won 5-2 over Louisville (Reds) in a game shortened to eight innings by rain. RHP Luis Escobar (1-0, 2.33) went five innings, allowing one run on two hits, three walks and a strikeout. The Indians outhit the Bats, 11-4. SS-2B Pablo Reyes (.227) went 2 for 4 with a second-inning solo home run and two runs scored. CF Jason Martin (.246) went 2 for 5 with two doubles and two runs. RF J.B. Shuck (.360) was 3 for 4 for his first three-hit game this season. LF Corey Dickerson (.182) finished 1 for 3 with two RBIs.

Next: Thursday at Toledo (Tigers), 7:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 27-29) won 6-2 over Erie (Tigers). C Arden Pabst (.238) went 3 for 4 with a solo homer in the sixth inning to put the Curve ahead 6-1. CF Jared Oliva (.197) hit a third-inning solo home run, his second homer in as many days and his fourth this season. RF Bligh Madris (.238) doubled and drove in two runs. Altoona used six pitchers. RHP Blake Cederlind (1-0, 0.53), the third Curve pitcher brought into the game, lasted the longest and tallied the win. Cederlind allowed a run on five hits in three innings with four strikeouts and a walk.

Next: Friday vs. Akron (Indians), 7 p.m.

BRADENTON (High-A, 33-25) lost 3-2 to Daytona (Reds). The Marauders scored a run in the fifth and sixth innings before the Tortugas put up a three spot in the bottom of the sixth. 3B Jesse Medrano (.209) hit his first home run this season and gave Bradenton the 1-0 lead. RHP Aaron Shortridge (3-2, 3.72) recorded the loss depsite throwing a no-hitter through 5 1/3 innings. He gave a triple in the sixth-inning, which triggered the three-run inning for Daytona. Shortridge lasted 7 2/3 innings with three runs on five hits, two walks and six strikeouts.

Next: Thursday at Daytona, 7:05 p.m.

GREENSBORO (Low-A, 38-20) lost 2-1 to Charleston (Yankees). The Grasshoppers scored first in the second inning on an RBI single to left field from DH Patrick Dorrian (.245). Greensboro maintained the 1-0 lead until giving up the tying score in the seventh and the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth. Both scores came on solo home runs. LHP Braeden Ogle (1-1, 4.23) took the loss and blew the save after allowing the tying and winning runs in the last three innings. Ogle struck out four. RHP Osvaldo Bido (6-4, 3.39) threw six scoreless innings to start the game, with 10 strikeouts, a walk and a hit in a no-decision.
