Pirates farm report for July 1, 2024: Marco Gonzales tosses 3 innings for Indy in rehab outing

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 35-45) topped Louisville (Reds), 3-2. 2B Ji Hwan Bae (.346) was 1 for 4 with a double and RBI. He also made an over the shoulder catch and threw back to second to complete a walk-off double play in the ninth inning. SS Alika Williams (.279) was 2 for 4 with an RBI. DH Jake Lamb (.293) and 1B Seth Beer each went 1 for 4. LHP Marco Gonzales (3.00) allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits with a walk and three strikeouts in three innings. The rehab outing was his first start since April 13. He has been on the injured list since with a left forearm muscle strain. RHP Fineas Del Bonta-Smith (1-0, 4.15) earned the win after three no-hit innings of relief with a walk and three strikeouts.

Next: Tuesday at Louisville (Reds), 6:35 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 30-46) dropped a 2-1 decision to Harrisburg (Nationals). SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.239) had three hits, including his team-leading eighth homer of the season. LF Yoyner Fajardo (.325) had a walk and single to extend his on-base streak to 16 games. 3B Charles McAdoo (.273) was 1 for 5. CF Sammy Siani (.242) was 2 for 4. RHP Drake Fellows (2-2, 3.06) allowed two runs on three hits and struck out nine hitters with two walks over a career-long seven innings. He retired 14 in a row at one point.

Next: Tuesday at Harrisburg (Nationals), 7 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 47-28) defeated Aberdeen (Orioles), 8-6. SS Mitch Jebb (.224) was 2 for 4 with four RBIs, including a three-run homer. DH Jack Brannigan (.217) hit a solo home run and had two RBIs. 1B Josiah Sightler (.185) and RF Wyatt Hendrie (.125) each hit a solo homer. 2B Termarr Johnson (.226) was 1 for 3. 3B Kalae Harrison (.212) was 2 for 4 with two runs scored. RHP Wilber Dotel (6-3, 4.87) allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits with a walk and five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings to earn the win.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 34-42) lost 9-6 in 11 innings to Fort Myers (Twins). 1B Axiel Plaz (.212) smacked two homers and had three RBIs. C Omar Alfonzo (.262) was 1 for 4 with a double and RBI. RF Eddy Rodriguez (.204) was 2 for 4 with an RBI. LF Braylon Bishop (.231) also was 2 for 4 with a double, RBI and a walk. RHP Peyton Stumbo (4.74) started and gave up five runs on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings. LHP Hunter Furtado (2-2, 6.06) took the loss after giving up three runs (one earned) on two hits with two walks and four strikeouts in two innings of relief
