Pirates farm report for July 12, 2024: Domingo German picks up win for Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 39-48) split a doubleheader with Columbus (Guardians).

In the first game, a 5-2 Indianapolis win, RHP Domingo German (4-4, 5.36) started and went five innings to earn the win, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with seven strikeouts. RHP Ben Heller (3.46) threw a scoreless seventh to pick up his second save. CF Ji Hwan Bae (.363) went 2 for 3 with a run scored and two RBIs. LF Matt Fraizer (.263) went 2 for 3 with a double, run and RBI.1B Jake Lamb (.286) went 1 for 3 with an RBI.

In the second game, an 8-2 Indianapolis loss, DH Malcom Nunez (.253) went 3 for 3 with a run scored. 1B Seth Beer (.276) went 2 for 3 with an RBI. LF Gilberto Celestino (.269) went 2 for 2 with an RBI. RHP Luis Cessa (3-4, 4.61) started and allowed four runs on five hits and two walks in four innings. LHP Justin Bruihl (2.79) pitched a scoreless inning.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 37-48) lost 2-1 to Bowie (Orioles). RF Tres Gonzalez (.213) went 2 for 4 with an RBI. LF Yoyner Fajardo (.340) went 2 for 4. 1B Joe Perez (.230) went 1 for with a triple and a run scored. LHP Jaden Woods (1-1. 4.50) started and allowed one unearned run on three hits in three innings to take the loss. RHP Grant Ford (5.40) also allowed one unearned run in three innings. LHP Ryan Borucki (0.00) pitching on a rehab assignment, threw a scoreless inning, allowing two hits. RHP JC Flowers (4.37) pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 53-31) allowed only three hits in an 8-0 win over Winston-Salem (White Sox). RHP Alessandro Ercolani (4.44) started and went four innings. He allowed all three Winston-Salem hits along with two walks and four strikeouts. LHP Julian Bosnic (1-2, 5.82) pitched one inning to pick up the win and RHP Elijah Birdsong (4.67) and RHP Ryan Harbin (6.20) each threw two frames. C Shawn Ross (.185) went 1 for 3 with a two-run homer, his 17th. LF Maikol Escotto (.201) went 1 for 4 with a two-run shot, his sixth. 1B Nick Cimillo (.303), DH Hudson Head (.238), CF PJ Hilson (.258) and RF Josiah Sightler (.201) each had two hits.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 37-48) lost 7-6 to Jupiter (Marlins). SS Keiner Delgado (.229) went 1 for 4 with his seventh homer. C Omar Alfonzo (.261) went 3 for 4 with two runs, two RBIs and his sixth homer. 1B Axiel Plaz (.232) went 1 for 4 with a three-run homer, his 12th. LF Braylon Bishop (.231) went 2 for 4 with two stolen bases and a run scored. LHP Connor Oliver (0-5, 5.84) started and gave up six runs on six hits and three walks in five innings. RHP Justin Miknis (0.00) pitched a scoreless ninth.
