Pirates farm report for July 14, 2021: Curve’s Mason Martin launches 17th homer in victory

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 30-30) fell to Omaha (Royals) in 12 innings. After allowing three runs in the top of the 12th, the Indians scored twice in the bottom of the inning but their rally fell short. C Joe Hudson (.235) and 2B Dee Strange-Gordon (.257) had RBI singles with no outs in the final inning before CF Anthony Alford (.298) and RF Fabricio Macias (.333) struck out and 1B Christian Bethancourt (.274) flew out to end the game. Strange-Gordon, Alford (home run) and LF Chris Sharpe (.196) all had two hits. RHP Luis Oviedo (8.10) allowed one hit with two strikeouts in three innings before being relieved by RHP James Marvel (4.15). He gave up two runs on four hits in 4 1/3 innings. RHP Matt Eckelman (0-4, 5.65) gave up three runs (two earned) and four hits in two innings and took the loss.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 33-26) crushed Binghamton (Mets), 10-3. 1B Mason Martin (.278) smacked his league-leading 17th home run. RF Cal Mitchell (.293) hit his 10th homer. 3B Josh Bissonette (.175) had three hits and four RBIs. RHP Travis MacGregor (3-2, 4.44) allowed two runs on three hits with five strikeouts over five innings to earn the victory.

GREENSBORO (High A, 37-25) edged Rome (Braves), 4-3. CF Matthew Fraizer (.328) had an RBI single, his 38th of the season. SS Liover Peguero (.247) tripled, and 3B Jared Triolo (.266) and C Grant Koch (.212) each had two hits, including a double. 2B Nick Gonzales (.221) was 0 for 5 with four strikeouts. RHP Grant Ford (4-1, 5.12) allowed one run on five hits with five strikeouts in three innings of relief to earn the win.

BRADENTON (Low A, 40-21) beat Daytona (Reds), 3-2. DH Endy Rodriguez (.265), 3B Dariel Lopez (.253) and C Eli Wilson (.348) all knocked in runs. Rodriguez has 33 RBIs this season and Lopez 32. LHP Nick Garcia (3.26) allowed two runs on one hit with six strikeouts in five innings. RHP Oliver Mateo (2-2, 8.31) got the win after tossing 1 2/3 innings of no-hit relief with four walks and four strikeouts.
