Pirates farm report for July 14, 2023: Endy Rodriguez belts grand slam in Indianapolis win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 41-46) hammered Omaha (Royals), 13-5. C Endy Rodriguez (.265) went 3 for 4 with a grand slam, his sixth homer. He scored three runs, drove in five and walked. SS Liover Peguero (.261) went 2 for 5 with a pair of homers, his first and second. DH Miguel Andujar (.366) went 2 for 5 with a two-run homers, his 11th, and five RBIs. LF Canaan Smith-Njigba (.253) went 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI. 2B Alika Williams (.283) went 2 for 3 with two walks. RHP Quinn Priester (4.31) started but worked just one scoreless inning, allowing one hit. LHP Kent Emanuel (7-3, 6.07) gave up two runs on seven hits in four innings to earn the win. RHP Colin Selby (3.70) and RHP JT Flowers (8.80) each threw a scoreless inning.

Next: Saturday at Omaha (Royals), 8:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 39-41) was drilled by New Hampshire (Blue Jays), 7-2. RHP Beau Sulser (0-1, 18.00) started and gave up four runs on four hits, including a homer, in two innings. RHP Bear Bellomy (6.48) and LHP Nick Dombkowski (3.51) each threw two scoreless innings of relief. LF Matt Fraizer (.256) went 1 for 4 with a two-run homer, his sixth. 2B Domingo Leyba (.322) went 1 for 4 with a double. The Curve was held to four hits.

Next: Saturday at New Hampshire (Blue Jays), 7:05 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 39-40) was doubled up by Brooklyn (Mets), 6-3. RHP Thomas Harrington (0-2, 4.71) was touched up for five runs on eight hits, including a homer, in 4.2 innings. He struck out seven. RHP Santiago Florez (6.41) threw a scoreless inning of relief. 2B Francisco Acuna (.385) went 2 for 4 with a homer, his first, a double and two RBIs. RF Sammy Siani (.221) went 2 for 3 with a double, a run scored and a walk. DH Will Mathiessen (.238) went 2 for 4.3B Shawn Ross (.193) went 1 for 2 with a walk and an RBI.

Next: Saturday at Brooklyn (Mets), 6 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 46-35) took care of Dunedin (Blue Jays), 8-6. 2B Termarr Johnson (.246) went 4 for 4 with two homers, his ninth and 10th, four RBIs, two runs scored and a walk. 1B Nick Cimillo (.273) went 1 for 3 with his sixth homer. DH Josiah Sightler (.514) went 1 for 1 with a double, an RBI and three walks. LHP Dominic Perachi (4.60) started and allowed five runs on six hits, including a homer. He fanned seven. RHP Carlos Lomeli (4-2, 4.04) gave up one run on three hits in two innings to earn the win. RHP Brandan Bidois (3.38) and RHP Elijah Birdsong (4.02) each threw a scoreless inning of relief. Birdsong picked up his fourth save.
