Pirates farm report for July 2, 2025: Ronny Simon, Nick Yorke homer to lift Indy to victory

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 47-35) edged Louisville (Reds), 3-2. DH Ronny Simon (.308) hit his third leadoff homer of the season and went 2 for 4 with a walk. 2B Nick Yorke (.280) also homered, a two-run shot for his sixth of the season. 1B Billy Cook (.272) doubled. LF Jack Suwinski (.257) was 1 for 3 with a run scored. RHP Thomas Harrington (5-8, 5.93) started and allowed two runs on eight hits with a walk and four strikeouts in five innings to earn the win. RHP Tanner Rainey (3.38) earned his third save after allowing one hit with two strikeouts in one inning of relief.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 37-39) defeated Harrisburg (Nationals), 8-5. 3B Kervin Pichardo (.233) was 2 for 4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. 2B Mitch Jebb (.260) had two hits, including a triple. RF Esmerlyn Valdez (.286) was 2 for 4 with a double, RBI and run scored. SS Maikol Escotto (.163) was 1 for 4 with two runs scored. RHP Po-Yu Chen (2-6, 4.57) picked up the win, allowing a run on three hits with a walk and six strikeouts in five innings. RHP Beau Burrows (0.00) picked up his fifth save after allowing two hits in the ninth inning.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 53-23) scored five times in the bottom of the first and beat Aberdeen (Orioles), 7-3. LF Shalin Polanco (.213) smacked a three-run homer. CF Will Taylor (.242) was 2 for 4 with a double, RBI and two runs scored. DH Lonnie White Jr. (.238) also was 2 for 4 with a double, RBI and run scored. 1B Jesus Castillo (.252) and 2B Keiner Delgado (.251) also had hits. SS Konnor Griffin (.333) was 0 for 2 with a run scored and two walks. RHP Peyton Stumbo (2.70) allowed two runs on five hits with four strikeouts in three innings. RHP Jarod Bayless (2-0, 2.38) picked up the win in relief after three no-hit innings with a walk and six strikeouts.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 37-39) edged Fort Myers (Twins), 2-1. RF Eddy Rodriguez (.222) plated a run with a bases-loaded walk. DH Ian Farrow (.191) also walked in a run. 2B Yordany De Los Santos (.242) and CF Edward Florentino (.313) had the only hits for Bradenton. RHP Clevari Tejada (4.58) tossed four shutout innings, allowing two hits with a walk and three strikeouts. RHP Greiber Mendez (6-2, 3.99), RHP Joshua Loeschorn (0.00) and RHP Jose Garces (3.34) combined for five scoreless innings. Mendez picked up the win, and Garces earned the save after striking out the side in the ninth.
