Pirates farm report for July 20, 2021: LF Anthony Alford has 4 hits, homer for Indy
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 33-32) outslugged Toledo (Tigers) 12-11 in 10 innings. C Joe Hudson (.226) hit the game-winning RBI single in the 10th. LF Anthony Alford (.324) went 4 for 5 with his eighth home run, two doubles and four RBIs. SS Dee Strange-Gordon (.273) went 2 for 3 with two walks, three runs scored and his fifth home run. RF Bligh Madris (.265) went 1 for 4 with his fourth home run. DH Christian Bethancourt (.278) and 3B Hunter Owen (.227) had two hits apiece. RHP James Marvel gave up seven runs on 10 hits in 4.1 innings. LHP Blake Weiman (2-0, 4.70) pitched a scoreless 10th to earn the win.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 36-27) outslugged Somerset (Yankees), 9-7. 2B Ji-hwan Bae (.285) went 1 for 4 with his first home run, a three-run shot in the eighth. C Arden Pabst (.224) went 3 for 4 and hit his fourth home run. RF Cal Mitchell (.292) went 2 for 4. LF Canaan Smith-Njigba (.283) went 1 for 3 with a double and three RBIs. RHP Travis MacGregor started and gave up five runs on six hits in five innings. RHP John O’Reilly (2-3, 5.87) gave up one run in two innings of relief to earn the win. RHP Hunter Stratton pitched a scoreless ninth for his seventh save.

DH Aaron Shackelford (.217) went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. RHP Grant Ford (5-1, 4.95) started and earned the win, allowing two runs on four hits, fanning four.
