Pirates farm report for July 24, 2024: Grand slams by Liover Peguero, Matt Fraizer lift Indy to victory
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 42-52) crushed Iowa (Cubs), 14-3. LHP Bailey Falter (6.00) made a rehab start and allowed two runs on five hits with three strikeouts in three innings. RHP Isaac Mattson (3-1, 4.01) earned the win after two no-hit innings of relief with one strikeout. LF Matt Fraizer (.278) was 2 for 4 with five RBIs, including a grand slam. SS Liover Peguero (.249) also hit a grand slam. 3B Andres Alvarez (.269) was 2 for 5 with two RBIs. CF Ji Hwan Bae (.355) and DH Jake Lamb (.277) each knocked in a run.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 39-53) dropped a 5-2 decision to Erie (Tigers). 3B Charles McAdoo (.284) was 3 for 4 with a double, solo homer and two RBIs. 2B Kervin Pichardo (.263) was 2 for 3. SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.225) and RF Tres Gonzalez (.220) also had singles. RHP Drake Fellows (2-3, 4.24) took the loss after allowing five runs on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings. The curve also turned the third triple play in franchise history when McAdoo fielded a ground ball and stepped on third, threw to Pichardo at second base, who then fired to Nick Cimillo at first for the third out.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 56-35) fell to Asheville (Astros), 5-1. 3B Jack Brannigan (.219) hit a solo home run. It was his 16th homer and 47th RBI of the season. 2B Termarr Johnson (.251), SS Mitch Jebb (.228) and 1B Maikol Escotto (.195) all had hits. RHP Wilber Dotel (7-4, 5.19) took the loss after allowing three runs on three hits with four walks and four strikeouts in five innings.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 39-53) edged Lakeland (Tigers), 3-2. 3B Javier Rivas (.224) hit a two-run home run. DH Garret Forester (.260) was 3 for 4, including a double. LF Shalin Polanco (.172) was 2 for 3 with an RBI. 1B Omar Alfonzo (.263) was 2 for 4 with a double and run scored. SS Keiner Delgado (.231) doubled. RHP Carlos Jimenez (3-3, 4.21) allowed two runs on six hits with three walks and seven strikeouts over five innings to earn the victory.
