Pirates farm report for July 26, 2023: Josh Palacios lifts Indy to victory with walk-off homer

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 46-51) scored a 6-5 walk-off victory over Louisville (Reds). CF/RF Josh Palacios (.410) hit a solo homer with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to secure the win. Palacios went 2 for 3 with two walks, two RBIs and two runs scored. RF/LF Canaan Smith-Njigba (.255) smacked a three-run homer. SS Vinny Capra (.289) was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI, his 29th of the season. 3B Domingo Leyba (.400) was 2 for 5 with a run scored. RHP Kyle Nicolas (10.17) gave up five runs on five hits with four walks and four strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. RHP Juan Minaya (1-1, 8.18) picked up the win after tossing a clean inning of relief with one strikeout.

Next: Thursday vs. Louisville (Reds), 7:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 43-45) edged Harrisburg (Nationals), 3-1. Curve pitchers allowed just one run and scattered seven hits. RHP Beau Sulser (6.00) allowed one run on four hits with four strikeouts over four innings. LHP Nick Dombkowski (allowed three hits with a walk and four strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings of relief to earn the win. RHP Oliver Garcia (4.50) struck out two batters in the ninth for his seventh save. CF Chavez Young (.221) was 2 for 3 with an RBI in the leadoff spot. 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.249) was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. 3B Mike Jarvis (.400) was 3 for 4 with a run scored. And, 2B Claudio Finol (.242) knocked in a run.

Next: Thursday at Harrisburg (Nationals), 6:30 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 46-43) earned a 7-6 victory over Winston-Salem (White Sox). C Eli Wilson (.230) hit a two-run homer, and 1B Jase Bowen (.270) was 4 for 5 with a solo homer and a double. RF Will Matthiessen (.243) was 1 for 4 with two RBIs. 3B Brenden Dixon (.193) also knocked in two runs. RHP Thomas Harrington (4.82) got a no-decision after allowing five runs (three earned) on eight hits with a walk and four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. RHP Jake Stevenson (1-0, 1.65) picked up the win after giving up one run on one hit in 1 2/3 innings of relief.

Next: Thursday vs. Winston-Salem (White Sox), 6:30 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 53-38) scored twice in the top of the ninth to defeat St. Lucie (Mets), 9-7. 1B Nick Cimillo (.277) singled home DH Termarr Johnson (.253) and CF Enmanuel Terrero (.271) to seal the win. Cimillo was 2 for 3. LF Rodolfo Nolasco (.214) was 1 for 4 with two RBIs and now has 47 on the season. 3B/SS Yordany De Los Santos (.226) also knocked in a run. C Geovanny Planchart (.243) had two RBIs. LHP Luis Peralta (6.25) allowed two runs on two hits with two walks and seven strikeouts in four innings. RHP Carlos Lomeli (5-2, 4.58) picked up the win in relief despite allowing three runs on six hits with a walk and four strikeouts in two innings.
