Pirates farm report for July 31, 2022: Po-Yu Chen tosses 1-hitter in Bradenton victory

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 46-50) defeated Toledo (Tigers), 4-1. C Carter Bins (.197) was 2 for 5, including a two-run homer. RF Jack Suwinski (.268) was 2 for 3 with an RBI. SS Tucupito Marcano (.362) was 3 for 5 from the leadoff spot. LF Travis Swaggerty (.267) was 2 for 4. 1B Taylor Davis (.278) was 1 for 2 with an RBI. CF Jared Oliva (.214) doubled. RHP Roansy Contreras (2.84) allowed one run on four hits with five strikeouts in three innings, earning a no-decision. RHP Hunter Stratton (2-5, 5.95) tossed a no-hit inning of relief with one strikeout and earned the win.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 47-49) lost 14-6 at Bowie (Orioles). DH Aaron Shackelford (.247) hit a two-run homer. LF Fabricio Macias (.303) was 2 for 4 and hit a three-run home run. C Blake Sabol (.268) was 2 for 4 with an RBI. RHP Brad Case (1-2, 3.80) took the loss after allowing two runs on three hits with three strikeouts in an inning of relief.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 42-52) lost 8-4 to Winston-Salem (White Sox). 3B Dariel Lopez (.284) was 3 for 4 with two RBIs, including a solo homer. DH Abrahan Gutierrez (.259) and SS Francisco Acuna (.255) hit solo home runs. C Eli Wilson (.229) tripled. RHP Nick Garcia (3-3, 4.01) allowed four runs on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings and took the loss.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 48-47) won 5-1 over Lakeland (Tigers). CF Jase Bowen (.278) was 2 for 4, including a two-run homer. RF Sergio Campana (.208) was 1 for 3 with an RBI. C Darwin Baez (.200) and LF Jasiah Dixon (.242) also knocked in runs. RHP Po-Yu Chen (3-6, 4.33) gave up just one hit and one walk with five strikeouts in seven innings to earn the win.
