Pirates farm report for July 31, 2024: Nick Yorke knocks in run in Indy debut

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 47-52) took down Toledo (Tigers), 7-5, for its eighth straight win. 2B Nick Yorke (.311), who was acquired from the Red Sox via a trade on Monday, was 1 for 3 with an RBI while batting cleanup in his debut. SS Liover Peguero (.251), LF Edward Olivares (.237) and 1B Jose Rojas (.247) all homered. DH Henry Davis (.324) was 2 for 3 with an RBI. CF Jack Suwinski (.258) tripled. RHP Isaac Mattson (4-1, 3.99) earned the win after four shutout innings of relief, allowing two hits with a walk and five strikeouts.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 42-56) trailed by seven runs but rallied for a 9-7 victory over Richmond (Giants). LF Tres Gonzalez (.241) was 3 for 4 with two RBIs. CF Sammy Siani (.235) and 1B Nick Cimillo (.229) each went 2 for 4 with two RBIs. 2B Kervin Pichardo (.265) was 2 for 4 with an RBI. DH Dustin Peterson (.224) and 3B Brenden Dixon (.199) also knocked in runs. RHP Po-Yu Chen (3.62) started and allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. LHP Jaden Woods (3-2, 6.28) earned the win after two scoreless innings of relief, giving up one hit with two strikeouts.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 57-40) was shut out by Winston-Salem (White Sox), 4-0. 2B Termarr Johnson (.246) and LF P.J. Hilson (.265) had the only hits for Greensboro. SS Mitch Jebb (.239), DH Hudson Head (.226) and CF Lonnie White Jr. (.176) combined to go 0 for 10 in the heart of the lineup. LHP Dominic Perachi (6-3, 2.08) allowed two runs on five hits with seven strikeouts in five innings and took the loss.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 41-57) scored seven runs in the top of the ninth inning but dropped a 9-8 decision to Palm Beach (Cardinals). RF Shalin Polanco (.173) had two doubles and two RBIs. SS Yordany De Los Santos (.250) was 1 for 4 with two RBIs. 2B Keiner Delgado (.225), CF Solomon Maguire (.175), LF Braylon Bishop (.229) and C Omar Alfonzo (.262) also knocked in runs. RHP Landon Tomkins (2-1, 3.98) took the loss after giving up one run on three hits with a strikeout in 2/3 of an inning.
