Pirates farm report for July 5, 2025: Hunter Barco throws 6 1-hit innings for Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 49-36) allowed only four hits but lost 3-1 to Louisville (Reds). LHP Hunter Barco (3.11) started and threw six scoreless innings, allowing one hit and three walks and striking out seven. RHP Cam Sanders (1.80) pitched 1⅔ scoreless innings and RHP Tanner Rainey (3.18) worked a scoreless ninth. CF Jack Suwinski (.264) went 1 for 4 with his 11th homer. LF Ronny Simon (.314) went 2 for 4. 1B Malcom Nunez (.307) went 1 for 3 with a walk.

Next: Sunday at Louisville (Reds), 1:35 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 39-40) managed three hits in a 4-1 loss to Harrisburg (Nationals). C Omar Alfonzo (.357) went 1 for 4 with his second homer. RF Esmerlyn Valdez (.214) went 1 for 2 with a walk. 3B Duce Gourson (.182) went 1 for 2 with a walk and his first stolen base with the Curve. RHP Wilber Dotel (3-4, 4.12) started and went three innings, giving up four runs, three earned, on five hits with two walks and five strikeouts. LHP Cy Nielson (5.03) and RHP Beau Burrows (0.00) each pitched two scoreless innings of relief. RHP Valentin Linarez (4.18) pitched a scoreless eighth.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 55-24) managed four hits in a 3-2 loss to Aberdeen (Orioles). 2B Jesus Castillo (.255) went 2 for 3. RF Shalin Polanco (.216) went 1 for 2 with two walks and two runs scored. 3B Keiner Delgado (.248) went 1 for 3 with two stolen bases, running his season total to 16. LHP Connor Wietgrefe (4.18) started and went five innings, allowing one run on three hits with two strikeouts. LHP Inmer Lobo (1.80) pitched a scoreless sixth and RHP Carlos Jimenez (4.68) threw 1⅓ scoreless innings.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 39-40) beat Fort Myers (Twins), 5-3. RHP Johan Oviedo (0.00), on a rehab assignment coming back from Tommy John surgery, started and faced four batters, walking two and striking out two. SS Yordany De Los Santos (.255) went 3 for 4 with a run scored, three RBIs and two stolen bases, running his season total to 29. 2B Wyatt Sanford (.232) went 2 for 5. 3B Jhonny Severino (.199) went 1 for 4 with an RBI. DH Joel Mendez (.233) went 1 for 2 with two walks and three runs scored. LF Ian Farrow (.226) went 2 for 2 with two walks and an RBI. RHP Brennan Malone (5.73) and RHP David Matoma (4.03) each pitched 1⅓ scoreless innings. RHP Matt Ager (1-5, 4.47) earned the win, giving up one run on two hits in 4⅔ innings.
