Pirates farm report for July 6, 2022: Aaron Shackelford belts 3-run homer in Curve victory
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 38-40) lost to Iowa (Cubs), 4-1. Iowa scored three runs in the top of the ninth. CF Travis Swaggerty (.270) hit a solo homer for the Indians’ lone run. DH Ji-hwan Bae (.313) was 2 for 4. 2B Kevin Newman (.396) and SS Rodolfo Castro (.217) also had singles. RHP Jerad Eickhoff (4.33) allowed one run on four hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings of a no-decision. LHP Cam Alldred (2-3, 2.87) gave up two runs on one hit with a walk in 1/3 of an inning and took the loss.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 38-38) scored a 6-3 victory over Akron (Guardians). 3B Jared Triolo (.269) was 3 for 5 with an RBI in the leadoff spot. 1B Aaron Shackelford (.244) hit a three-run home run in the third. RF Matt Fraizer (.220) was 3 for 4 with an RBI. RHP Carmen Mlodzinski (2-4, 4.12) tossed five innings, allowing two runs on six hits with a walk and six strikeouts to earn the victory. LHP Tyler Samaniego (3.21) tossed a clean ninth inning for his fifth save.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 33-43) picked up an 8-4 victory over Greenville (Red Sox). RF Sammy Siani (.225) was 2 for 4 with a two-run homer. C Endy Rodriguez (.278) was 2 for 5 with two RBIs. LF Luke Brown (.167) was 1 for 4 with two RBIs. 2B Yoyner Fajardo (.277) was 2 for 4 with an RBI. RHP Sean Sullivan (2-4, 4.71) allowed three runs on four hits with three strikeouts and three walks in five innings of relief to earn the win.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 35-41) beat Lakeland (Tigers), 7-2. 1B/LF Jase Bowen (.268) was 3 for 5 and hit a three-run homer in the fifth. He now has 45 RBIs this season. DH Wyatt Hendrie (.223) was 2 for 4 and hit a solo homer in the second. SS Maikol Escotto (.333) was 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two walks. 2B Tsung-Che Cheng (.254) was 2 for 5. RHP Joelvis Del Rosario (3.31) allowed one run on one hit with three strikeouts in three innings of a no-decision. RHP Kelvin Disla (1-0) earned the win after one inning of relief where he had two walks but didn’t allow a hit.
