Pirates farm report for July 6, 2023: Quinn Priester pitches into 8th, allows 2 runs in Indy win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 39-44) beat Memphis (Cardinals), 3-2, on a walk-off sacrifice fly by DH Miguel Andujar (.354) in the bottom of the ninth. CF Chris Owings (.261) singled with one out and C Endy Rodriguez (.258) followed with a single that sent Owings to third. Rodriguez went 2 for 4 with a walk and a run scored. 1B Aaron Shackelford (.240) and 2B Alika Williams (.277) each went 2 for 4. RF Ryan Vilade (.268) went 1 for 3 with an RBI, a run scored, a walk and his sixth stolen base. RHP Quinn Priester (4.36) started and allowed two runs on five hits in 7.1 innings. He struck out three and walked none. RHP Colin Selby (4.03) got the final two outs of the eighth and RHP Hunter Stratton (2-4, 5.25) worked a scoreless ninth to pick up the win.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 37-40) gave up two runs in the eighth to lose 5-3 to Erie (Tigers). LHP Anthony Solometo (2.37) started and allowed three runs on five hits, including a homer, in four innings. He walked one and fanned three. RHP Noe Toribio (4.35) worked 2.2 scoreless innings before LHP Geronimo Franzua (0-1, 13.50) gave up two runs on two hits, including a homer, in 1.1 innings to take the loss. RHP Tahnaj Thomas (7.06) pitched a scoreless ninth. LF Lolo Sanchez (.217) went 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored. 2B Jackson Glenn (.154) went 1 for 3 with a double, an RBI and a walk. RF Matt Gorski (.251) and CF Chavez Young (.140) went went 1 for 4 with an RBI.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 38-38) was outslugged by Aberdeen (Orioles), 11-7. RHP Bubba Chandler (6.79) started and allowed five runs on nine hits, including two homers, in 5.1 innings. He struck out six and walked three. LHP Cy Nielson (3.48) worked a scoreless seventh. RHP Ryan Harbin (0-1, 36.00) was touched up for four runs on three hits, including a three-run homer, in an inning to take the loss. LF Jase Bowen (.261) went 1 for 4 with his 17th home run. 1B Will Matthiessen (.236) went 1 for 4 with his ninth homer. CF Tres Gonzalez (.269) went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 43-34) doubled up Daytona (Reds), 4-2. DH Josiah Sightler (.500) went 3 for 5 with an RBI. SS Jesus Castillo (.222) went 2 for 5 with his 16th stolen base. CF Shalin Polanco (.250) went 2 for 4 with a double. 1B Nick Cimillo (.273) went 1 for 4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. 3B Deivis Nadal (.184) went 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. 2B Termarr Johnson (.229) was 1 for 5 with three strikeouts. LHP Luis Peralta (6.52) started and gave up a run on one hit in four innings, striking out three and walking two. RHP Wil Crowe (0.00), making his second appearance while rehabbing a shoulder injury, pitched a scoreless fifth to earn the win. RHP Jorge Ramos (0.00) pitched two scoreless innings. RHP Joshua Loeschorn (4.59) allowed one run on two hits in two innings to pick up the save. He fanned five.
