Pirates farm report for June 1, 2021: Roansy Contreras throws 6 scoreless
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 12-12) beat Columbus (Indians), 5-3. 1B Colin Moran (groin) and RF Phillip Evans (hamstring) began rehab assignments. Moran went 0 for 2 with a strikeout and Evans went 1 for 2 with a single. They both played five innings in the field. RHP Max Kranick, newly promoted from Altoona, gave up one run on four hits in five innings, striking out six. RHP Kyle Keller pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win. Indianapolis took the lead with a three-run eighth. DH Bligh Madris had an RBI single and LF Anthony Alford walked and 3B T.J. Rivera was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 15-9) topped Richmond (Giants), 4-1. RHP Roansy Contreras pitched six scoreless innings, striking out eight. He’s 3-1 with a 1.63 ERA with 42 strikeouts in 27⅔ innings. RHP John O’Reilly pitched two scoreless innings to earn his third save. C Arden Pabst went 2 for 4 and hit a two-run homer, his second. 3B Rodolfo Castro doubled and drove in a run. CF Jonah Davis went 1 for 2 with a double and two walks.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 12-13) lost 6-3 to Winston-Salem (White Sox). RHP Quinn Priester was tagged for five runs, all earned, on eight hits, including three home runs, in four innings. He’s 2-3 with a 4.71 ERA. C Grant Koch hit a two-run home run, his first. RF Fabricio Macias went 1 for 3 with a walk and scored a run.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 16-9) rallied past Dunedin (Blue Jays) 7-5 with four runs in the ninth. PH Ernny Ordonez sparked the rally, hitting a two-run triple and scoring on a wild pitch. RHP Wandi Montout pitched two scoreless innings of relief with three strikeouts to earn the win. RHP Oliver Mateo worked the ninth to record his second save. RHP Luis Oritz started and gave up four runs, three earned, on five hits and two walks in 2⅓ innings. 2B Jase Bowen went 1 for 5 with an RBI triple. C Endy Rodriguez singled and drove in a run. LF Sammy Sianni went 1 for 3 with a double. 3B Dariel Lopez went 1 for 4 with a double.
