Pirates farm report for June 11, 2023: Catcher Abrahan Gutierrez homers in Curve win

ALTOONA (Double-A, 30-25) sored once in the eighth, twice in the ninth and once in the 10th to beat Richmond (Giants), 5-4. SS Liover Peguero (.270) had an RBI single in the eighth. C Abrahan Gutierrez (.222) hit a two-run homer, his first in Double-A, in the ninth. CF Matt Fraizer (.225) scored on a squeeze bunt by 2B Claudio Finol (.226) in the 10th. RHP Travis MacGregor (4-0, 1.83) gave up no runs and two hits over the final three innings to earn the win. Gutierrez was 2 for 4. 1B Mason Martin (.211) went 2 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI. RF Connor Scott (.203) was 2 for 5 with a double. RHP Kyle Nicolas (4.36) started and went four innings, allowing two runs on two hits with four strikeouts. RHP Brad Case (1.84) and RHP Noe Toribio (3.32) each threw a scoreless inning.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 31-24) doubled up Wilmington (Nationals), 6-3. RF Sammy Siani (.229) went 1 for 3 with a two-run homer, his sixth. DH Shawn Ross (.182) went 1 for 4 with a two-run shot, his second. 2B Tsung-Che Cheng (.307) went 1 for 2 with two walks and a run scored. 1B Will Matthiessen (.273) went 1 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI. LHP Anthony Solometo (2.30) started and pitched four innings, allowing five hits and striking out seven. RHP Grant Ford (4-0, 4.50) pitched two perfect innings to earn the win. LHP Cy Nielson (2.25) got the final two outs to pick up his seventh save.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 29-27) rallied from an 8-0 deficit to force extra innings but lost 9-8 to Dunedin (Blue Jays) in 10. 2B Termarr Johnson (.240) went 1 for 4 with a three-run homer, his third. 1B Alexander Mojica (.217) went 2 for 4 with a home run, his fourth, and two RBIs. DH Nick Cimillo (.261) went 2 for 3 with a two-run homer, his fourth, and three RBIs. LHP Dominic Perachi (4.35) started and went 3.2 innings, giving up four runs on five hits and two walks. RHP Darvin Garcia (2.86) pitched two scoreless innings. RHP Joshua Loeschorn (4.07) pitched two innings and allowed the automatic runner to score an unearned run in the 10th to take the loss.
