Pirates farm report for June 14, 2024: Indianapolis wins on Liover Peguero homer

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 28-37) beat Jacksonville (Marlins), 3-2, on a solo home run by SS Liover Peguero (.265) that snapped a 2-2 tie in the top of the ninth. It was Peguero’s fourth homer of the season. LF Matt Fraizer (.240) went 1 for 3 with two RBIs. 3B Malcom Nunez (.255) went 2 for 4 with a run scored. RHP Jake Woodford (5.01) started and went six innings, giving up two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and no walks. RHP Chris Gau (5.49) followed with 1⅔ scoreless innings. LHP Geronimo Franzua (2-4, 6.21) threw 1⅓ scoreless to pick up the win.

Next: Saturday at Jacksonville (Marlins), 6:35 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 22-39) got past Erie (Tigers), 6-5. LHP Anthony Solometo (6.27) started and went three innings, allowing three runs on three hits with three strikeouts and one walk. RHP Sean Sullivan (2-5, 3.26) finished the game from there, allowing two runs on seven hits in six innings. He struck out four and walked one. RF Sammy Siani (.227) went 1 for 4 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI. 3B Joe Perez (.224) went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.220) went 1 for 2 with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI. 1B Seth Beer (.284) went 1 for 4 and drove in a pair. 2B Kervin Pichardo (.239) went 1 for 2 with a double and two runs scored.

Next: Saturday vs. Erie (Tigers), 6 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 35-25) clobbered Winston-Salem (White Sox), 14-5. RF Hudson Head (.239) went 3 for 5 with two doubles, a triple, three RBIs and two runs scored. 1B Nick Cimillo (.318) went 3 for 4 with his 10th homer, three runs scored and two RBIs. 2B Termarr Johnson (.216) went 2 for 5 with a walk and two runs scored. DH Charles McAdoo (.345) went 2 for 4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. LF Lonnie White Jr. (.159) went 1 for 4 with a double. LHP Dominic Perachi (2.34) started and gave up three runs on five hits in four innings. He walked two and struck out six. RHP Scott Randall (1-0, 6.00) allowed two runs on three hits in three innings to pick up the win. RHP Fineas Del Bonta-Smith (0.00) and RHP Jaycob Deese (7.32) each pitched a scoreless inning of relief.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 26-35) lost 10-1 to Dunedin (Blue Jays). LHP Michael Kennedy (1-5, 4.70) started and gave up three runs on five hits and two walks in 4⅔ innings. He struck out seven. RHP Garrett McMillan (2.66) pitched 1⅓ scoreless innings. C Axiel Plaz (.219) went 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI. CF Solomon Maguire (.170) went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.

Bradenton also won 6-0 in a game that was suspended in the sixth inning Thursday night. Three pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout. RHP Carlson Reed (1.99) started and went five innings, allowing three hits and one walk and striking out eight. RHP Luigi Hernandez (2-1, 6.32) allowed one hit and four walks in 2⅓ innings, striking out three, to pick up the win. RHP Mike Walsh (0.87) worked the final 1⅔ innings without allowing a hit. CF Enmanuel Terrero (.105) went 1 for 4 with a grand slam, his first homer of the year. C Omar Alfonzo (.253) went 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI. 2B Keiner Delgado (.229) went 1 for 4 with a eun scored and an RBI.
