Pirates farm report for June 15, 2023: Henry Davis gets 2 hits, 2 walks in Indy loss

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 29-35) lost 10-8 to Iowa (Cubs) in a slugfest. C Henry Davis (.321) went 2 for 3 with a double, a run scored and two walks. DH Miguel Andujar (.354) went 1 for 4 with a home run, his eighth, and a walk. RF Cal Mitchell (.272) went 3 for 5 with three RBIs. 2B Nick Gonzales (.254) was 2 for 4 with a walk, a double and two RBIs. 3B Jared Triolo (.262) went 2 for 5 with a run scored. LHP Kent Enmanuel (4-3, 6.80) was touched up for six runs on 10 hits in 4.2 innings. RHP Hunter Stratton (5.65) was tagged for four runs on four hits, including two homers, in 1.1 innings.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 30-28) fell to Somerset (Yankees), 6-3. 2B Liover Peguero (.267) went 2 for 5 with a home run, his eighth. CF Matt Gorski (.262) went 2 for 5 with three stolen bases and a run scored. He has 13 steals on the year. 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.241) went 1 for 3 with an RBI. RHP Aaron Shortridge (5.60) started and tossed six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and three walks with six strikeouts. RHP Cameron Junker (1-2, 3.55) gave up four runs on two hits, including a homer, and four walks in an inning to take the loss.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 33-25) beat Greenville (Red Sox), 6-5, in 10 innings. 3B Shawn Ross (.219) went 2 for 5 with the game-winning RBI double in the 10th and a home run, his third, in the eighth. DH Ernny Ordonez (.208) went 1 for 5 with his third home run. SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.321) went 4 for 5 with a double and a run scored. 1B Brenden Dixon (.220) was 3 for 4 with a double and a run scored. RF Will Matthiessen (.271) went 2 for 3 with two doubles and a walk. CF Tres Gonzalez (.237) was 2 for 5 with a run scored. RHP Braxton Ashcraft (3.76) started and allowed three runs on five hits and a walk in four innings. He gave up a homer and struck out four. LHP Cy Nielson (2-0, 2.42) gave up the tying run in the ninth but pitched a scoreless 10th and picked up the win. RHP Grant Ford (41.8) pitched two perfect innings with three strikeouts.

RHP Wilber Dotel (5.50) started and worked four innings, allowing a run on two hits and two walks with five strikeouts. RHP Joshua Loeschorn (2-4, 4.78) gave up three runs on one one hit, a homer, and a walk in two innings to take the loss.
