Pirates farm report for June 16, 2024: Thomas Harrington throws 5 1-hit innings in Altoona win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 29-38) was blanked 5-0 by Jacksonville (Marlins). Indianapolis was held to four hits, all singles. DH Joshua Palacios (.261) went 2 for 4. LHP Nick Dombkowski (1-2, 4.43) started and gave up three runs on six hits in 3⅔ innings. He walked one and struck out four. RHP Chris Gau (5.14) pitched 1⅓ scoreless innings, allowing two hits.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 24-39) scored four times in the bottom of the seventh to beat Erie (Tigers), 6-2. RHP Thomas Harrington (3.13) started and pitched five scorless innings, allowing one hit and no walks with five strikeouts. RHP Eddie Yean (5-1, 2.72) pitched 2⅓ scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out two, to pick up the win. LHP Tyler Samaniego (7.11) pitched a scoreless ninth. DH Yoyner Fajardo (.323) went 2 for 4 with a double, two runs scored, an RBI and his third stolen base. CF Sammy Siani (.237) went 1 for 4 with a triple and an RBI. RF Tres Gonzalez (.215) went 2 for 4.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 36-26) took care of Winston-Salem (White Sox), 12-4. CF Lonnie White Jr. (.171) went 3 for 4 with his 10th homer, three runs scored and two RBIs. C Shawn Ross (.192) went 3 for 5 with his 12th homer, a three-run shot, and two runs scored. 3B Charles McAdoo (.344) went 2 for 4 with a double, triple and two RBIs. DH Termarr Johnson (.219) went 1 for 4 with a walk and two RBIs. RHP Alessandro Ercolani (4.99) started and gave up two runs on three hits in 3⅓ innings. He walked two and struck out three.RHP Elijah Birdsong (3-0, 3.00) pitched 1⅔ innings of scoreless relief to earn the win. LHP Hunter Barco (3.75) and LHP Jaden Woods (2.22) each threw a scoreless inning.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 28-35) scored twice in the top of the ninth to beat Dunedin (Blue Jays), 4-3. C Axiel Plaz (.235) went 2 for 4 and hit the game-tying solo homer in the ninth, his fifth. 2B Jeral Toledo (.220) delivered the game-winning RBI double. SS Keiner Delgado (.242) went 2 for 2 with a triple, two walks and an RBI. LHP Connor Oliver (4.64) started and threw four inning, allowing no hits and one unearned run with two walks and five strikeouts. RHP Garrett McMillan (2-2, 2.42) finished it out with two innings of scoreless relief, allowing two hits and striking out two, to earn the win.
