Pirates farm report for June 2, 2023: Quinn Priester throws 6 scoreless, Canaan Smith-Njigba hits grand slam

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 26-28) blasted Toledo (Tigers), 11-0. RHP Quinn Priester (4.38) started and worked six innings, allowing four hits and three walks, striking out six. DH Canaan Smith-Njigba (.250) went 2 for 5 with a grand slam, his seventh homer of the year, and a double. LF Miguel Andujar (.325) went 1 for 3 with a three-run homer, his sixth, and two walks. C Endy Rodriguez (.247) went 3 for 5 with a run scored. 3B Jared Triolo (.275) went 2 for 5 with an RBI and his third stolen base. 2B Nick Gonzales (.252) went 2 for 4 with an RBI. 1B Ryan Vilade (.264) went 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. RHP Hunter Stratton (3.04) pitched two scoreless innings of relief and LHP Ryan Borucki (8.31) worked a scoreless ninth.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 25-22) doubled up Binghamton (Mets), 6-3. SS Liover Peguero (.256) went 1 for 4 with a solo home run, his fifth. RF Matt Fraizer (.250) was 1 for 3 with a three-run homer, his fourth. LF Connor Scott (.213) went 2 for 4 with a double. C Henry Davis (.280) went 0 for 3 with a walk and a run scored.RHP Jared Jones (1-2, 2.36) started and went six innings, allowing one run on two hits and two walks with three strikeouts. RHP Brad Case (2.53) pitched two scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 25-22) lost 4-3 to Winston-Salem (White Sox) in 10 innings. C Abrahan Gutierrez (.267) went 1 for 5 and hit his second home run. RF Sammy Siani (.241) went 2 for 4 with a walk. 2B Maikol Escotto (.212) went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. RHP Dante Mendoza (2-1, 3.91) allowed the ghost runner to score in the 10th, taking the loss. RHP Thomas Harrington (11.57) started and gave up three runs on six hits in 2.1 innings in his High-A debut. He struck out four. RHP Jaycob Deese (4.40) pitched 2.2 innings of scoreless relief. RHP Valentin Linarez (6.14) threw two scoreless frames.

LF Shalin Polanco (.225) went 2 for 3 with a two-run homer, his seventh. RF Enmanuel Terrero (.308) went 4 for 5 with a run scored. C Geovanny Planchart (.235) went 2 for 4 and scored a run. RHP Joshua Loeschorn (2-2, 4.95) gave up three runs, two earned, on one hit and three walks in 1.1 innings to take the loss. RHP Alessandro Ercolani (5.52) started and gave up three runs on five hits and two walks in 4.2 innings. RHP Tyler Chatwood (5.68) pitched a scoreless inning of relief.
