Pirates farm report for June 22, 2023: Miguel Andujar’s 3 hits pace Indy in victory

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 31-40) defeated Columbus (Guardians), 6-2. 1B Miguel Andujar (.346) was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. CF Ryan Vilade (.276) hit a two-run single. RF Mark Mathias (.272) added two RBIs. LF Canaan Smith-Njigba (.226) was 2 for 3. 2B Nick Gonzales (.257) had a triple. LHP Cam Alldred (3-1, 3.40) allowed two runs on five hits with three walks and four strikeouts in six innings to earn the win.

Next: Friday vs. Columbus (Guardians), 7:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 33-32) dropped a 9-8 decision to Bowie (Orioles). SS Liover Peguero was 1 for 2 with a double. 1B Ji Man Choi (.500), making his first rehab start while on the Pirates’ 60-day injured list recovering from a left achillies strain, was 1 for 2 with a double. 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.250) was 2 for 3. C Abrahan Gutierrez (.289) hit a two-run single. LF Matt Fraizer (.238) was 2 for 5 with an RBI.

RHP Sean Sullivan (2-1, 3.31) allowed seven runs (four earned) on nine hits with a walk and three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings and took the loss.

Next: Friday vs. Bowie (Orioles), 6 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 36-28) rolled to an 8-1 win over Winston-Salem (White Sox). 2B Mike Jarvis (.256) was 2 for 4 with a homer and three RBIs. DH Ernny Ordonez (.214) hit a two-run home run. 1B Jase Bowen (.255) was 3 for 4 with a solo homer. LF Tres Gonzalez (.257) and C Wyatt Hendrie (.235) each had two hits. RHP Po-Yu Chen (3-4, 4.34) earned the win after allowing one run on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts in seven innings.

Next: Friday vs. Winston-Salem (White Sox), 6:30 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 35-30) was pounded 13-4 by Lakeland (Tigers). Starting LHP Luis Peralta (0-2, 6.45) allowed three runs on three hits with two walks in 2/3 of an inning and took the loss. SS Jesus Castillo (.214) knocked in a run with a double. C Omar Alfonzo (.185) was 1 for 3 with an RBI. 1B Nick Cimillo (.256) went 2 for 4 and was the only Bradenton player with multiple hits.

Next: Friday at Lakeland (Tigers), 6:30 p.m.
