Pirates farm report for June 28, 2022: Ben Gamel homers on rehab assignment
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 36-35) doubled up Nashville (Brewers), 6-3. LF Ben Gamel (hamstring), playing on a rehab assignment, went 2 for 5 with a two-run homer and a double. 2B Kevin Newman (groin) went 1 for 4 with an RBI. 1B Yoshi Tsutsugo (back) went 1 for 2 with three walks. RF Jake Marisnick (thumb) went 1 for 4. RHP Osvaldo Bido (4.92) started and went three innings, allowing two runs on four hits with five strikeouts. RHP Cody Bolton (2-1, 2.89) earned the win, giving up one run on three hits in three innings, fanning four. RHP John O’Reilly (6.12) pitched two scoreless innings and LHP Eric Stout (3.58) worked a scorless ninth for his third save.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 34-36) scored eight times in the first two innings and beat Harrisburg (Nationals), 8-3. C Henry Davis (.196) went 1 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. LHP Dillon Peters (back) started and worked a perfect inning on a rehab assignment. RHP Duane Underwood Jr. (hamstring), also on rehab, pitched two scoreless innings, allowing two hits. In between, RHP Luis Ortiz (3-4, 5.06) worked five innings, allowing three hits on five hits, to earn the win. 3B Jared Triolo (.266) went 1 for 2 with his third homer, a three-run shot, and two walks. CF Matt Gorski (.290) went 1 for 3 with an RBI.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 29-40) beat Hickory (Rangers), 5-4, when RF Fabricio Macias (.267) hit his second home run of the game in the ninth inning. Macias, who went 2 for 4 with three RBIs, has five homers on the season. DH Abrahan Gutierrez (.252) went 1 for 3 with a home run, his fifth. 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.307) went 1 for 3 with an RBI. RHP Justin Meis (6.94) of Bethel Park started and went five innings, allowing one run on two hits and four walks with five strikeouts. RHP Jack Carey (3-4, 3.58) worked three scoreless innings, not allowing a hit, to earn the win. RHP Oliver Mateo (5.14) pitched a scoreless ninth for his second save.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 31-38) was hammered by Tampa (Rays), 10-4. RHP Valentin Linarez (1-6, 5.80) started and surrendered five runs on four hits and three walks in three innings. C Grant Koch (.261) went 1 for 3 with a home run, his first. 3B Mike Jarvis (.230) went 2 for 5 with a double and his 12th stolen base. 2B Deivis Nadal (.229) was 2 for 4 with an RBI. SS Tsung-che Cheng (.256) went 1 for 2 with two walks and two stolen bases, his 12th and 13th.
