Pirates farm report for June 28, 2025: Termarr Johnson collects 3 hits, homer, stolen base for Curve
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 45-34) crushed Omaha (Royals), 12-1. RHP Bubba Chandler (3.38) started and again struggled with his control, giving up one run on three hits and four walks in 3⅓ innings. He fanned six. RHP Dauri Moreta (2-0, 3.00) pitched two no-hit innings with four strikeouts to pick up the win. CF Jack Suwinski (.252) went 2 for 4 with a three-run homer, his 10th. He had a walk, two runs scored and five RBIs. SS Liover Peguero (.252) went 3 for 4 with his fourth homer. DH Ji Hwan Bae (.265), back in Triple-A after a minor league rehab assignment with Bradenton, went 3 for 4 with a walk and three runs scored. 2B Nick Yorke (.276) went 3 for 4 with a run scored and two RBIs. 3B Malcom Nunez (.319) went 2 for 4 with a double, run scored and RBI. LF Billy Cook (.268) went 2 for 5 with two runs scored. LHP Randy Labaut (5.61) pitched 1⅔ scoreless innings and RHP Burch Smith (8.40) and RHP Ryder Ryan (4.08) each threw a scoreless frame.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 34-39) collected 11 hits in a 4-2 win over Chesapeake (Orioles). 2B Termarr Johnson (.255) went 3 for 5 with his eighth homer and 11th stolen base. LF Jase Bowen (.258) went 1 for 4 with his fourth homer. RF Tres Gonzalez (.250) went 2 for 4 with a run scored. 1B Duce Gousron (.250) went 3 for 4 with a run scored and RBI. RHP Antwone Kelly (1-0, 1.80) started and went five innings in his Altoona debut, giving up one run on one hit with two walks and three strikeouts. RHP Ryan Harbin (0.00) pitched 1⅓ no-hit innings with three strikeouts and RHP Justin Meis (2.43) followed with two no-hit innings with four strikeouts for his third save.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 51-22) beat Winston-Salem (White Sox), 3-1, despite managing only four hits. SS Konnor Griffin (.365) had three of them, going 3 for 4 with a run scored, an RBI and two stolen bases, his 10th and 11th with Greensboro. 1B Jesus Castillo (.255) went 1 for 4. C Omar Alfonzo (.260) wore the golden sombrero, going 0 for 4 with four strikeouts. RHP Khristian Curtis (2-4, 5.20) started and picked up the win, giving up one run on two hits with two walks and six strikeouts in five innings. LHP Nick Dombkowski (0.00) pitched two scoreless innings and RHP Michael Walsh (2.62) followed with two more scoreless frames for his third save.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 35-39) gave up two runs in the bottom of the ninth to lose 5-4 to Dunedin (Blue Jays). DH Edward Florentino (.217) went 2 for 3 with a double, walk, run scored, RBI and stolen base. 1B Richard Ramirez (.250) went 1 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. LF Joel Mendez (.232) went 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI. C Derek Berg (.209) walked in all four of his plate appearances, stealing two bases and scoring once. RHP Matt Ager (4.76) started and pitched four scoreless innings, allowing two hits with no walks and two strikeouts. RHP Joshua Loeschorn (0.00) followed with a perfect inning. RHP Jonawel Valdez (4-3, 3.89) allowed four runs on four hits in 2⅔ innings to take the loss.
