Pirates farm report for June 29, 2025: Hunter Barco allows 1 hit, strikes out 7 in Indy victory

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 46-34) rallied for a 3-2 victory over Omaha (Royals). LHP Hunter Barco (3.69) allowed one run on one hit with seven strikeouts in six innings. He gave up a solo homer in the sixth that broke up a no-hitter. RHP Michael Darrell-Hicks (1-0, 0.00) picked up the win with a clean inning of relief with two strikeouts. 2B Nick Yorke (.276) was 1 for 4 with two RBIs. CF Ji Hwan Bae (.271) was 2 for 5 with an RBI and run scored. RF Billy Cook (.269), 3B Malcom Nunez (.320) and SS Alika Williams (.269) all doubled. LF Jack Suwinski (.253) was 1 for 3 with a walk.

Next: Tuesday at Louisville (Reds), 6:35 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 35-39) edged Chesapeake (Orioles), 6-4. CF/2B Mike Jarvis (.259) hit two doubles and had three RBIs. LF/CF Sammy Siani (.212) hit a two-run double. 3B Duce Gourson (.211) had a sacrifice fly. 2B Termarr Johnson (.256) doubled and walked. DH Nick Cimillo (.223) doubled. RHP Wilber Dotel (4.00) started and allowed four runs on four hits in 2 2/3 innings with three walks and three strikeouts. The bullpen then threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings. RHP Brandan Bidois (1-0, 0.00) earned the win after two perfect innings with two strikeouts. RHP Wilkin Ramos (1.75) earned his fourth save with a scoreless ninth inning.

Next: Tuesday vs. Harrisburg (Nationals), 6 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 52-22) shut out Winston-Salem (White Sox), 7-0. LHP Connor Wietgrefe (4.41) allowed one hit with two walks and three strikeouts in three scoreless innings. RHP Jake Shirk (2-0, 4.50) earned the win in relief after a no-hit inning with one walk. RHP J.P. Massey (8.04), RHP Landon Tomkins (1.93), LHP Julian Bosnic (4.35), RHP Jack Carey (3.75) and RHP Carlos Jimenez (4.75) combined to close out the one-hit shutout with one no-hit inning apiece. 3B Javier Rivas (.284) was 2 for 5 with two-run homer and DH Esmerlyn Valdez (.303) hit three-run blast, his 20th of the year. SS Konnor Griffin (.358), 2B Keiner Delgado (.254), 1B Omar Alfonzo (.261), RF Lonnie White Jr. (.231) and C Justin Miknis (.167) added one hit apiece.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 35-39) had its game against Dunedin (Blue Jays) suspended by inclement weather. The game was tied 3-3 in the top of the 11th inning. It will be resumed at a later date at LECOM Park in Bradenton.
