Pirates farm report for June 6, 2021: Lolo Sanchez's HR gives Greensboro walk-off win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 15-14) lost 4-1 to Columbus (Indians). 1B Christian Bethancourt (.308) had two of the Indians’ five hits and knocked in the lone run with a double. LF Phillip Evans (.216) was 1 for 3 with a walk as he continued his rehab assignment as he recovers from a hamstring injury. RHP Max Kranick (0-1, 4.32) allowed four runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings. Columbus scored all four of its runs in the fifth inning.

Next: Tuesday at Nashville (Brewers), 8:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 18-11) lost to Richmond (Giants), 7-3. 3B Rodolfo Castro (.280) knocked in all three runs for the Curve and has 19 this season. He also committed two errors, and the Curve allowed five unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. 2B Ji-Hwan Bae (.271) had a triple and double, but the Curve managed just six hits. RHP Jeff Passantino (0-2, 2.70) allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and had five strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings and took the loss.

Next: Tuesday vs. Akron (Indians), 6:30 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 15-15) won 7-6 over Winston-Salem (White Sox) when DH Lolo Sanchez (.259) hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth. LF Matthew Fraizer (.320) and RF Fabricio Macias (.288) each had three hits. Macias also had an RBI. RHP Carmen Mlodzinski (1-1, 0.55) threw five scoreless innings, allowing four hits with seven strikeouts. RHP Oliver Garcia (1-0, 3.00) earned the win despite allowing two runs on three hits in 2/3 innings. Winston-Salem scored five runs in the top of the ninth to take a 6-5 lead before Sanchez’s homer in the bottom of the inning.

Next: Tuesday at Hickory (Rangers), 7 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 19-11) lost to Dunedin (Blue Jays), 4-3. Bradenton managed just four hits and scored all three of its runs in the sixth inning. 1B Endy Rodriguez (.265) was 2 for 4 with a double. DH Ernny Ordonez (.280), LF Sammy Siani (.185) and 3B Alexander Mojica (.178) all had RBIs. LHP Nick Florencio (2-1, 3.12 allowed one run on two hits with eight strikeouts in five innings. RHP Adrian Garcia (2-1, 0.86) took the loss after giving up three runs (one earned) on two hits with four strikeouts in three innings of relief.
