Pirates farm report for June 7, 2023: Henry Davis triples for 1st Triple-A hit

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 28-30) was outslugged by Omaha (Royals), 9-7. RF Henry Davis (.200) went 1 for 3 with a walk and his first Triple-A hit, a triple. C Endy Rodriguez (.252) went 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI. LF Cal Mitchell (.267) went 2 for 5 with a double, a home run, his seventh, and three RBIs. 1B Miguel Andujar (.350) went 2 for 4 with an RBI and his third stolen base. SS Alika Williams (.111) went 1 for 4 with a double and a run scored. RHP Quinn Priester (4.63) started and was touched up for four runs on eight hits and two walks in five innings. He gave up a home run and fanned four. RHP Cody Bolton (1-2, 2.84) allowed two runs on one hit and two walks in 1.2 innings to take the loss. RHP Tyler Chatwood, veteran major leaguer who started the season with Bradenton, pitched 1.1 scoreless innings in his first Triple-A outing of the season.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 28-23) was held to five hits and lost to Richmond (Giants), 6-1. RF Chavez Young, playing in his first game since being sent down from Triple-A, went 2 for 3 with a double. C Abrahan Gutierrez (.143) went 1 for 4 with a double. LF Matt Gorski (.267) was 1 for 4 with an RBI. RHP Brad Case (1.98) started and pitched three scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks and striking out two. LHP Omar Cruz (0.00) followed with two scoreless innings of relief without allowing a hit. LHP Nick Dombkowski (1-2, 5.68) recorded one out and allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits to take the loss.

Next: Thursday at Richmond (Giants), 6:35 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 28-23) got a walk-off RBI double from 2B Tsung-Che Cheng (.296) in the bottom of the ninth to beat Wilmington (Nationals), 5-4. C Eli Wilson (.228) went 1 for 2 with a three-run homer, his third, and two walks. DH Luke Brown (.150) went 1 for 3 and hit his first homer. RHP Bubba Chandler (6.91) started and was tagged for four runs on four hits, including a homer, in 3.2 innings. He struck out six. RHP Michell Miliano (4.33) followed with 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and strking out three. Four Grasshoppers relievers then threw one perfect inning apiece. They were RHP Eddy Yean (7.45), RHP Logan Hofmann (0.00), LHP Mitchell Miller (5.31) and RHP Dante Mendoza (3-1, 3.81).

Next: Thursday vs. Wilmington (Nationals), 6:30 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 28-25) was limited to four hits in a 3-1 loss to Dunedin (Blue Jays). CF Shalin Polanco (.231) went 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI. C Geovanny Planchart (.239) went 1 for 3 with a double. 2B Termarr Johnson (.252) went 0 for 3 with a walk and a run scored.RHP JP Massey (2-3, 2.84) started and gave up three runs on five hits and two walks in six innings. He allowed two homers and struck out four. LHP Julian Bosnic (1.96) threw two scoreless innings, and RHP Elijah Birdsong (1.56) pitched a scoreless frame.
