Pirates farm report for May 11, 2023: Cal Mitchell homers in Indianapolis loss

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 16-19) blew a 5-1 lead and lost 8-7 to St. Paul (Twins). LHP Cam Alldred (5.00) started and allowed two runs, one earned, on one hit and three walks in three innings. He struck out five. RHP JC Flowers (4.15) walked four in one inning and gave up two runs. RHP Carmen Mlodzinski (0-2, 4.80) surrendered four runs, three earned, on three hit, including a homer, in two innings to take the loss. RF Cal Mitchell (.254) went 2 for 4 with a double and his fourth home run, a three-run shot. CF Chavez Young (.193) went 1 for 3 with his second homer. C Eli Koch (.282) was 2 for 4 with his second homer.

Next: Friday at St. Paul (Twins), 7:37 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 13-15) gave up two in the top of the ninth and lost 4-2 to Akron (Guardians). RHP Sean Sullivan (2.08) started and gave up two runs on seven hits and no walks in six innings. He fanned three. RHP Cameron Junker (2.38) worked two scoreless innings. LHP Tyler Samaniego (1-1, 3.75) was tagged for two runs on four hits in an inning to take the loss. SS Liover Peguero (.222) went 1 for 4 and hit his second home run. LF Connor Scott (.143) went 2 for 4 with an RBI. C Henry Davis (.300) went 0 for 4.

Next: Friday vs. Akron (Guardians), 6 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 18-11) got past Jersey Shore (Phillies), 4-3. SS Maikol Escotto (.225) went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. 3B Mike Jarvis (.218) was 1 for 4 with an RBI, RF Tres Gonzalez (.345) went 1 for 3 with an RBI, and LF Hudson Head (.272) was 1 for 4 with an RBI. RHP Po-Yu Chen (6.75) started and went six innings, allowing two runs on five hits with no walks and five strikeouts. RHP Dante Mendoza (2-0, 5.52) worked two scoreless innings to earn the win, fanning four. RHP Jack Carey (8.22) gave up one run in the ninth to pick up his third save.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 18-12) beat Lakeland (Tigers), 6-4. LF Deivis Nadal (.185) went 1 for 4 with his third home run, a two-run shot. DH Alexander Mojica (.260) went 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored. C Omar Alfonzo (.250) was 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI. CF Enmanuel Terrero (.320) was 1 for 4 with a triple and an RBI. SS Termarr Johnson (.231) went 1 for 3 with a walk. RHP Alessandro Ercolani (5.03) started and gave up two runs on two hits and a walk in five innings. RHP Joshua Loeschorn (2-1, 5.14) earned the win, giving up two runs on four hits in two innings. RHP Yunio Thibo (2.70) worked two perfect innings with three strikeouts to collect his third save.
