Pirates farm report for May 19, 2023: Altoona no-hit, but Henry Davis gets on base twice anyway
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 19-21) and Iowa (Cubs) were rained out. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 17-18) was no-hit in a 4-0 loss to Bowie (Orioles). Bowie RHP Chayce McDermott started, struck out four and walked four in five innings. RHP Nolan Hoffman and LHP Easton Lucas each threw two perfect innings of relief. RHP Kyle Nicolas (2-5, 5.30) started for the Curve and allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits. He fanned six. RHP Juan Minaya (1.00) threw two scoreless innings and RHP Travis MacGregor (1.66) and RHP Cameron Junker (1.88) each worked a scoreless frame. RF Henry Davis (.308) reached base twice, going 0 for 2 with two walks.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 20-17) lost 9-7 to Asheville (Astros). RHP Bubba Chandler (7.36) started and was touched up for four runs on three hits and five walks in 2.1 innings. SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.269) went 1 for 5 and hit a grand slam, his sixth homer of the year. 2B Mike Jarvis (.204) went 1 for 3 with a triple and two walks. C Wyatt Hendrie (.240) went 2 for 4 with an RBI. RHP Dante Mendoza (4.19) pitched 2.2 scoreless innings of relief.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 20-17) fell 5-3 to Clearwater (Phillies). 2B Jesus Castillo (.271) went 2 for 5 with a run scored and an RBI. CF Enmanuel Terrero (.300) was 2 for 4 with a walk. RF Rodolfo Nolasco (.303) went 2 for 5. RHP Thomas Harrington (4-1, 3.27) started and gave up two runs on four hits and three walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out nine. RHP Tyler Chatwood (0.00), an MLB veteran making his way back from a shoulder injury, pitched a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.
