Pirates farm report for May 24, 2023: Henry Davis drives in 4 runs in Curve victory
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 22-24) took care of Columbus (Guardians), 12-9.2B Nick Gonzalez (.263) went 1 for 5 and hit a two-run homer, his fourth. 1B Miguel Andujar (.293) went 2 for 4 with his fourth homer. RF Mark Mathias (.246) was 1 for 3 with his second homer and three RBIs. DH Canaan Smith-Njigba (.233) went 2 for 6 and hit his fourth homer. SS Jared Triolo (.231) went 2 for 3 with three walks and two RBIs. LF Cal Mitchell (.258) was 2 for 3 with a double, a walk and an RBI. C Endy Rodriguez (.235) went 0 for 6 with three strikeouts. LHP Kent Emanuel (8.31) started and gave up five runs on eight hits and three walks in 3.1 innings. RHP Carmen Mlodzinski (1-2, 3.86) worked 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out four, to pick up the win. RHP Cody Bolton (2.08) worked two scoreless innings, allowing no hits and fanning three, to earn his first save.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 20-19) collected 15 hits – all singles – in a 13-9 victory over Hartford (Rockies). RF Henry Davis (.299) went 1 for 2 with a walk, a hit by pitch, a stolen base, his seventh, and four RBIs. 1B Mason Martin (.202) went 2 for 4 and also drove in four runs. SS Liover Peguero (.270) went 2 for 5 with two RBIs and his 13th stolen base. LF Matt Fraizer (.248) was 2 for 5 with three runs scored and two stolen bases. C Dylan Shockley (.186) was also 2 for 5 with two RBIs. RHP Aaron Shortridge (4.99) started and gave up seven runs, six earned, on five hits and three walks in two innings. LHP Nick Dombkowski (1-1, 3.92) pitched three scoreless innings of relief, giving up two hits and walking one, to earn the win.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 22-19) blistered Bowling Green (Rays), 15-1. 3B Mike Jarvis (.227) went 2 for 2 with his eighth homer, three RBIs and four runs scored. C Eli Wilson (.229) went 3 for 4 with a grand slam, his second homer of the year, a double and five RBIs. LF Hudson Head (.240) went 1 for 4 with his fifth homer. DH Will Matthiessen (.242) went 3 for 4 with two RBIs. LHP Anthony Solometo (1-3, 3.16) started and pitched six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and a walk and striking out six.
