Pirates farm report for May 27, 2025: Nick Cimillo homers in Altoona win

ALTOONA (Double-A, 22-24) doubled up Portland (Red Sox), 4-2. DH Nick Cimillo (.210) went 1 for 3 with his second homer. 1B Brenden Dixon (.135) went 1 for 3 with a double and a run scored. C Shawn Ross (.167) went 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored. Three pitchers combined to shut out Portland for seven innings. RHP Fineas Del Bonta-Smith started and gave up one hit and two walks in two innings. LHP Blake Townsend (1-0, 0.00) allowed one hit with two walks and two strikeouts in three innings to earn the win in his first appearance of the season with the Curve after being called up from Greensboro. RHP Sean Sullivan (0.00) pitched two no-hit innings with two strikeouts.

LF Joel Mendez (.227) went 2 for 4 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI. 1B Ethan Lege (.254) went 2 for 4 with a run scored and his third stolen base. CF Will Taylor (.283) went 1 for 4 with an RBI. RHP Carlos Castillo (4.81) started and went five innings, giving up two runs on three hits, including a homer, with two walks and three strikeouts. LHP Tyler Samaniego (0-1, 54.00) got two outs and gave up four runs on four hits, including a homer, to take the loss. RHP Noah Takacs (2.25) and RHP Adolfo Oviedo (8.79) each pitched a scoreless inning.
