Pirates farm report for May 30, 2023: Rough night for Henry Davis in Altoona loss

ALTOONA (Double-A, 22-22) was knocked around by Binghamton (Mets), 10-3. RF Henry Davis (.293) went 0 for 4 with two strikeouts. RHP Aaron Shortridge (3-3. 5.36) started and allowed six runs, four earned, on six hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. LHP Nick Dombkowski (5.01) gave up three runs on three hits, including two homers, in two innings. 2B Andreas Alvarez (.210) went 1 for 4 and hit his fifth home run. 1B Matt Gorski (.257) went 3 for 4 with a double. LF Connor Scott (.202) went 3 for 4 with a double, triple and an RBI. RHP Cameron Junker (1.47) pitched a scoreless inning.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 23-21) lost to Winston-Salem (White Sox), 7-5. 3B Mike Jarvis (.231) went 2 for 3 with an RBI. C Abrahan Gutierrez (.246) was 1 for 3 with two RBIs. DH Will Matthiessen (.242) went 1 for 4 with an RBI. RHP Braxton Ashcraft (3.94) pitched one inning as an opener, allowing one run on two hits with two strikeouts. RHP Po-Yu Chen (5.01) worked the bulk of the game, giving up two runs on four hits with three walks and five strikeouts in five innings. RHP Michell Miliano (1-1, 4.56) allowed two runs, one earned, on two hits in two-thirds of an inning to take the loss.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 24-22) was humbled by Tampa (Yankees), 15-0. Veteran RHP Tyler Chatwood (6.75) gave up four runs on two hits and three walks in an inning to take the loss. RHP Owen Sharts (8.31) was tagged for four runs on four hits and two walks in an inning. The Marauders were held to four hits. 2B Termarr Johnson (.277) went 1 for 2 with a double and two walks. 3B Jack Brannigan (.188) and C Giovanny Planchart (.219) each went 1 for 3 with a walk.
