Pirates farm report for May 4, 2022: Matt Gorski hits 8th homer for Greensboro

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 13-12) mustered up just six hits and lost 1-0 to Louisville (Reds). RHP Jerad Eickhoff (1-2, 6.16) was the hard-luck loser. He gave up only two hits in four innings, but one of them was a solo home run by DH Ronnie Dawson in the first. LFP Cam Alldred (1.62) and RHP Cristofer Melendez (2.61) pitched two scoreless innings each and RHP Austin Brice pitched one. 3B Canaan Smith-Njigba (.233) went 1 for 3 with a triple. 3B Rodlofo Castro (.234) went 1 for 4 with a walk and two stolen bases. 2B Ji-hwan Bae (.269) went 2 for 4 with a stolen base, his eighth. SS Oneil Cruz (.159) went 0 for 4 with a strikeout.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 10-13) was beaten by Erie (Tigers), 12-5. RHP Luis Ortiz (1-1, 5.89) started and gave up four runs on six hits and two walks in 2.2 innings. Erie broke the game open with six runs off RHP Enmanuel Mejia (7.45) in the eighth. CF Matthew Fraizer (.167) went 1 for 5 with a double and three RBIs. 3B Jared Triolo (.286) went 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI. LF Tucupita Marcano (.229) was 1 for 4 with a triple and a run scored.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 10-13) clobbered Asheville (Astros), 14-3. CF Matt Gorski (.276) went 2 for 5 with a three-run homer, his eighth. LF Endy Rodriguez (.274) went 1 for 2 with three walks and blasted his third homer. RF Yoyner Fajardo (.333) went 2 for 5 with a double and three RBIs. 1B Abrahan Gutierrez (.271) was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. SS Maikol Escotto (.233) went 1 for 2 with two walks and three runs scored. C Henry Davis (.333) went 1 for 5 with a double and an RBI. RHP Domingo Gonzalez (1-2, 8.84) started and worked 5.2 innings, giving up three runs on five hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. RHP Eddy Yean (5.73) pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 13-10) gave up four runs in the ninth and lost 7-5 to Tampa (Yankees). RHP Carlos Lomeli (2-1, 2.77) gave up the four runs on three hits, but only one was earned. LHP Denny Roman worked three scoreless innings of relief. 2B Brenden Dixon (.258) went 3 for 5 and hit his third homer, a two-run shot. RF Rodlofo Nolasco (.233) went 3 for 5 with two doubles and an RBI.
