Pirates farm report for May 6, 2023: Henry Davis doubles twice for Curve
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 14-17) clobbered Toledo (Tigers), 9-1. LF Cal Mitchell (.233) went 3 for 5 with a double and his third home run. 1B Ryan Vilade (.288) went 3 for 5 with his second homer, three RBIs and three runs scored. RF Canaan Smith-Njigba (.182) went 2 for 5. 2B Aaron Shackelford (.288) went 2 for 4 with a double. DH Malcom Nunez (.194) went 1 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. RHP Osvaldo Bido (2-2, 4.40) started and went five innings, allowing one run on two hits and two walks with six strikeouts. LHP Angel Perdomo (3.38) threw two scoreless innings and RHP John O’Reilly (7.71) and RHP Carmen Mlodzinski (3.46) pitched a scoreless frame apiece.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 13-11) doubled up Richmond (Giants), 4-2. 3B Domingo Leyba (.325) went 2 for 4 with three RBIs, including the go-ahead run-scoring single in the top of the ninth. C Henry Davis (.292) went 2 for 5 with a pair of doubles. 2B Liover Peguero (.256) went 1 for 4 with a walk and two runs scored. LHP Nick Dombkowski (2.08) started and went two innings, allowing three hits, including a solo home run. RHP Matt Eckleman (1.42) worked five innings, giving up one run on three hits. RHP Tahnaj Thomas (2-0, 4.00) pitched a scoreless eighth to earn the win. LHP Tyler Samaniego (2.89) worked a scoreless ninth for his first save.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 15-11) managed four hits in an 8-0 loss to Winston-Salem (White Sox). RF Tres Gonzalez (.333) went 1 for 3 with a walk. CF Hudson Head (.269), 1B Will Matthiessen (.211) and LF Sammy Siani (.291) hit singles. LHP Anthony Solometo (0-2, 3.96) started and allowed two runs on four hits in four innings. He struck out eight. RHP Santiago Florez (5.23) gave up three runs in two innings and RHP Eddy Yean (6.10) surrendered three runs on five hits in an inning.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 16-10) lost 1-0 to Tampa (Rays) in a one-hit shutout. 1B Alexander Mojica (.279) went 1 for 2 and broke up the no-hitter with a double in the seventh inning. RHP JP Massey (4.42) started and pitched five scoreless innings, giving up one hit and four walks with seven strikeouts. LHP Luis Peralta (0-1, 2.70) gave up one run in 1.2 innings to take the loss, allowing no hits but walking five. RHP Ryan Harbin (0.87) threw 1.1 scoreless innings.
