Pirates farm report for Sept. 10, 2023: 3-hit games from Henry Davis, Chris Owings lead Indy to victory

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 63-73) beat Toledo (Tigers), 5-2. SS Chris Owings (.238) was 3 for 5 with a solo homer and double. DH Henry Davis (.350) was 3 for 3 with an RBI. 1B Matt Gorski (.400) was 2 for 4. CF Ryan Vilade (.260) had an RBI double. LF/RF Canaan Smith-Njigba (.257) was 1 for 5 with an RBI. RHP Wil Crowe (4.08) started and allowed two runs on four hits with three walks and five strikeouts in four innings. RHP Beau Sulser (3-1, 7.23) allowed one hit in 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win.

Next: Tuesday at Omaha (Royals), 1:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 63-66) beat Harrisburg (Nationals), 5-4, on a walk-off. C Carter Bins (.218) hit a double in the bottom of the ninth for the victory. He also had two earlier RBI singles. 1B Connor Scott (.195) had two hits, including an RBI single. SS Andres Alvarez (.217) was 2 for 4. CF Jase Bowen (.364) tripled. LHP Jackson Wolf (4.06) allowed three runs on five hits in five innings with two strikeouts and no walks in a no-decision. RHP Oliver Garcia (7-3, 4.47) allowed one hit in one inning of relief to earn the win.

Next: Tuesday at Akron (Guardians), 6:35 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 68-61) ended its season with a 6-5 win over Bowling Green (Rays). 1B Nick Cimillo (.147) hit a three-run homer in the top of the ninth for the winning runs. 3B Jack Brannigan (.299) was 2 for 4, with a double. SS Maikol Escotto (.213) hit two doubles. RF Luke Brown (.270), DH Josiah Sightler (.232) and CF Hudson Head (.237) also had RBIs.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 76-54) completed its season with a 5-3 win over Fort Myers (Twins). C Omar Alfonzo (.273) and 2B/3B Kalae Harrison (.262) each knocked in runs in the eighth inning to seal the win. 1B Esmerlyn Valdez (.250) also had an RBI. RHP Elijah Birdsong (2-3, 7.02) allowed two runs on three hits with a walk in two innings of relief and earned the win.
