Pirates farm report for Sept. 12, 2021: Ka'ai Tom, John Nogowski lift Indianapolis to victory
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 54-59) shut out Louisville (Reds), 3-0. RF Ka’ai Tom (.224) hit a two-run home run, and 1B John Nogowski (.207) had an RBI in a three-run fourth inning. 2B Tucupita Marcano (.236) was 2 for 4. RHP Max Kranick (4-4, 4.14) allowed two hits with one walk and eight strikeouts in six innings to earn the win. RHP Shea Spitzbarth (1.48) earend his second save after one inning of hitless relief.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 56-54) beat Erie (Tigers), 5-2. C Grant Koch (.116) hit a two-run homer. CF Matt Fraizer (.279) had a two-run double. SS Rodolfo Castro (.258) also had a double. LHP Trey McGough (5-5, 3.54) allowed four hits and struck out five batters in seven scoreless innings to earn the victory.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 71-43) lost 8-4 to Jersey Shore (Phillies). LF Lolo Sanchez (.263) was 2 for 3 with a double, walk and two RBIs. 1B Will Matthiessen also knocked in a run, and 2B Nick Gonzales had an RBI and run scored. RHP Santiago Florez (3-3, 7.56) took the loss after allowing six hits and five runs in three innings.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 70-43) shut out Clearwater (Phillies), 4-0. LHP Po-Yu Chen (1-0, 5.25) allowed three hits and three walks with six strikeouts in seven innings to earn the win. RHP Nick Dombrowski (4.32) picked up his second save with two hitless innings of relief with three strikeouts. DH Endy Rodriguez (.294) was 2 for 5, and 1B Ernny Ordonez (.258) added two hits and an RBI. SS Maikol Escotto was 2 for 4 with an RBI and run scored.
