Pirates farm report for Sept. 16, 2022: David Bednar pitches 1-2-3 inning on rehab assignment
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 70-68) lost 9-6 to Toledo (Tigers). RHP David Bednar (4.50) pitched a perfect inning as he rehabs a back injury. RHP Jerad Eickhoff (6-7, 5.06) started and was touched up for seven runs, six earned, on six hits and a walk in three innings. RHP Junior Fernandez (5.36) pitched two scoreless innings. CF Jared Oliva (.261) went 1 for 4 with a two-run homer, his eighth. SS Tucupita Marcano (.352), RF Travis Swaggerty (.260), 1B Brendt Citta (.257) and LF Blake Sabol (.308) each ahd two hits.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 70-65) got first-inning home runs from 2B Nick Gonzales and C Henry Davis in a 5-1 win over Reading (Phillies). It was the seventh homer for Gonzales (.262), who went 2 for 4. It was the fourth for Davis (.211), who also went 2 for 4. 1B Matt Gorski (.277) went 2 for 4 with a double. 3B Malcom Nunez (.296) was 2 for 3 with a walk and two RBIs. RHP Carmen Mlodzinski (6-8, 4.78) started and worked five scoreless innings, allowing four hits and a walk, striking out four. LHP Tyler Samaniego (3.52) pitched a scoreless ninth.
