Pirates farm report for Sept. 17, 2021: Miguel Yajure throws 6 scoreless for Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 55-62) shut out St. Paul (Twins), 2-0. RHP Miguel Yajure (2-3, 3.09) got the start, walking just one and striking out six in six scoreless frames. RHP Joe Jacques (4.31), RHP Shea Spitzbarth (1.41) and RHP Tyler Bashlor (2.16) each pitched a scoreless inning, with Bashlor collecting his sixth save of the season. RF Bligh Madris (.273) went 1 for 4 with an RBI double and SS Ethan Paul (.211) knocked in the second run on a single.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 57-58) fell to Bowie (Orioles), 3-1. RHP Jeff Passantino (1-8, 4.62) got the start and earned the loss, allowing three runs (two earned) while walking one and striking out six across four innings. RHP Noe Toribio (4.32) was dominant out of the bullpen for the Curve, allowing just one baserunner, a walk, and striking out seven over four innings. LF Jack Suwinski (.246) and CF Matthew Fraizer (.279) spoiled Bowie’s no-hit bid in the eighth, stringing together a couple of singles that eventually led to a run.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 73-45) lost to Hudson Valley (Yankees) 3-2. RHP Valentin Linarez (0-2, 5.00) started and went four innings, allowing a pair of runs, walking one and striking out three. RHP Jack Carey (6.23) and RHP Austin Roberts (4.69) pitched two scoreless and one scoreless, respectively. SS Liover Peguero (.271), 1B Aaron Shackelford (.212), LF Mike Jarvis (.333), and C Eli Wilson (.222) had one hit each, accounting for all of the Grasshoppers’ offense.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 71-46) lost to Lakeland (Tigers), 3-1. RHP Jared Jones (3-6, 4.64) allowed three runs in four innings, while walking three and striking out seven. RHP Sergio Umana (6.21) and LHP Nick Dombkowski (3.86) delivered two scoreless innings apiece out of the bullpen. C Endy Rodriguez (.295) went 2 for 4. RF Hudson Head (.215) had a two-hit night as well. CF Jase Bowen (.222) collected the fifth hit for Bradenton.
