Pirates farm report for Sept. 17, 2023: Tsung-Che Cheng scores winning run in 10th in Curve's final game

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 66-76) lost to Omaha (Royals), 11-5. SS Nick Gonzales (.272) was 3 for 5 with two doubles and an RBI in the leadoff spot. 2B Vinny Capra (.283) was 2 for 5 with two RBIs. CF Matt Gorski (.275) hit a solo homer. LF Ryan Vilade (.254) had an RBI. RHP Dauri Moreta (0-1, 11.37) allowed two runs on two hits with four walks and two strikeouts in two innings and took the loss. RHP Roansy Contreras (4.71) allowed six runs on nine hits with three strikeouts and no walks in four innings of relief.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 67-68) capped off the 2023 season with a 4-3 win over Akron (Guardians) in extra innings. 2B Tsung-Che Cheng (.251) scored on a passed ball in the 10th inning for the winning run. 1B Jase Bowen (.219) hit an RBI double. CF Chavez Young (.207) also hit an RBI double. SS Andres Alvarez (.215) had an RBI single. RHP Justin Meis (4.55) allowed one run on two hits with four strikeouts and two walks in 3 1/3 innings of a no-decision. RHP Cameron Junker (4-5, 3.25) earned the win after throwing 2 1/3 innings of relief and allowing no hits and no runs with a walk and strikeout. The Curve finished in third place in the Southwest Division.
