Pirates farm report for Sept. 3, 2023: Geovanny Planchart's walk-off single helps Bradenton sweep DH

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 59-71) lost 8-3 to Buffalo (Blue Jays). Buffalo scored five runs in the seventh inning. CF Chris Owings (.234) hit his 11th homer, a two-run shot. SS Nick Gonzales (.261) hit a solo home run and now has 36 RBIs this season. DH Domingo Leyba (.280) was 3 for 4. LHP Cam Alldred (4.93) allowed one un-earned run on two hits with two walks and four strikeouts in four innings of a no-decision. RHP Nick Dombkowski (0-1, 18.00) gave up six runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts in three innings and took the loss.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 58-65) allowed six runs in the first inning and was dumped 13-5 by Erie (Tigers). RHP Aaron Shortridge (10-8, 5:19) allowed 13 runs (12 earned) on 12 hits with two walks and four strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings. 2B Tsung-Che Cheng (.271) hit a three-run homer. C Eli Wilson (.234) smacked a homer and was 2 for 4. CF Matt Fraizer (.259) singled to extend his hitting streak to 16 games. RHP Justin Meis (4.70), from Bethel Park, threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 65-58) lost 9-0 to Hickory (Rangers). 3B Brenden Dixon (.226) was 2 for 3. SS Francisco Acuna (.280) was 1 for 3. 2B Termarr Johnson (.210) was 1 for 4. RHP Derek Diamond (2-1, 4.91) took the loss after allowing five runs on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts in four innings.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 72-52) swept a doubleheader over Palm Beach (Cardinals). In Game 1, Bradenton won 3-1. C Omar Alfonzo (.266) hit a solo homer. LF Charles McAdoo (.338) and SS Javier Rivas (.185) also knocked in runs. LHP Dominic Perachi (4.67) allowed one run on two hits with three walks and five strikeouts in four innings. RHP Antwone Kelly (1-0, 0.00) tossed two scoreless innings of relief with three strikeouts and earned the win.

In Game 2, Bradenton won 5-4 after C Geovanny Planchart (.228) hit a walk-off single in the eighth inning to score 2B/SS Mitch Jebb (.306). Jebb was 2 for 3 with two doubles and two RBIs. CF Lonnie White Jr. (.262) was 1 for 4. McAdoo (.321) had an RBI. RHP Danny Carrion (1-0, 12.46) earned the win after throwing a no-hit inning of relief with a walk and strikeout.
