Pirates farm report for Sept. 3, 2025: Konnor Griffin steals 65th base, gets hit by another pitch

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 76-56) was crushed by Columbus (Guardians), 9-2. RHP Ryder Ryan (3.73) started and went four scoreless innings, giving up two hits and striking out two. RHP Eddy Yean (3.47) gave up two runs on two hits in an inning of relief. RHP Sean Sullivan (2-4, 4.93) gave up a three-run homer among his three hits allowed and struck out two in two innings to take the loss. RHP Jack Little (4.22) gave up a grand slam. 2B Mike Jarvis (.176) went 1 for 3 with his first home run with Indy. 1B Rafael Flores (.279) went 3 for 4 with an RBI double and a pair of singles. RF Nelson Velazquez (.213) was 2 for 4 with two singles.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 64-62) outdueled Richmond (Giants) for an 8-7 win. SS Konnor Griffin (.320) went 1 for 3 with a double and his 65th stolen base of the season. He was hit by a pitch for the second straight game and scored two runs. RF Esmerlyn Valdez (.273) was 1 for 4 with an RBI single. C Omar Alfonzo (.218) hit a three-run homer, his third, and finished 2 for 3. 1B Duce Gourson (.272) doubled and hit his fourth homer. 2B Termarr Johnson (.270) singled twice, walked and scored three runs. RHP Po-Yu Chen (5.84) started, went three innings and gave up two runs on four hits. LHP Jaden Woods (5.49) yielded three runs on two hits in 1⅓ innings and RHP Landon Thompkins (2.08) and RHP Valentin Linarez (3.17) each gave up a run. LHP Tyler Samaniego (1-1, 3.33) tossed 1⅔ shutout innings to pick up the win.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 86-40) rolled Hudson Valley (Yankees), 7-1. RHP Khristian Curtis (8-5, 3.98) started and went 6⅓ shutout innings, giving up three hits and striking out seven for the win. CF Will Taylor (.233) crushed a three-run homer, his ninth, walked and stole his 14th bag of the year. LF Titus Dumitru (.244) went 3 for 4 with a pair of singles, a double and a walk. 3B Jesus Castillo (.245) smacked an RBI double and singled and 2B Keiner Delgado (.240) walked three times, scored two runs and slapped a single. LHP Julian Bosnic (2.84) threw two-thirds of a shutout inning and RHP Jack Carey (3.62) fanned two in a shutout inning. RHP Joshua Loeschorn (2.84) gave up a run on one hit in an inning of work.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 57-68) beat Dunedin, (Blue Jays) 8-5. 2B Jhonny Severino (.212) went 2 for 5 with a solo home run, his 11th, an RBI double and scored two runs. C Richard Ramirez (.276) hit an RBI double, 1B Tony Blanco Jr. (.277) slashed an RBI single and walked three times and RF Camden Janik (.275) was 2 for 5 with two singles and an RBI. SS Carlos Caro (.156) finished 2 for 4 with two singles, three RBIs and scored a run. RHP Matt Ager (4.86) started and went 2⅔ innings, yielded five runs, three earned, and struck out one. RHP Jonawel Valdez (5-4, 3.60) threw 3⅓ shutout innings and yielded one hit and fanned two. RHP Jack Anker (0.00), RHP Cameron Keshock (2.25) and LHP Greiber Mendez (3.54) each tossed a shutout inning and struck out a batter.
